I used one of those stretchy thick rubber exercise bands and did resistance training. The bands come with exercises you can try.

Its also really good if you tie it in a loop and exercise your thighs with it too!

The exercise where you stand with your back against chair/table, hands behind you and the idea is that you bend your legs, like into a seat position with a straight back and lowering your bum towards the ground, then back up. I know what I mean, but not sure that this description does it any justice. I do this twice a day working up to 3 reps of 20 and it works within a few weeks.

maidamess · 15/06/2008 20:16

giggly thats a tricep dip

6 weeks?! Fracture your tibial plateau into lots of little pieces and you will still be toning your upper body by hobbling on crutches 3 months later.

On balance though, I'd rather have bingo wings.

Bridie3 · 15/06/2008 20:35

RUssian kettleballs. I have a 12kg and 8kg. I am a little lopsided now, since I can only lift the 12 kg on the right side.

Monkeytrousers · 15/06/2008 20:41

Press ups and tricep dips. start at 10 a day and work up to 30 over a week. You should see some improvment within a couple of weeks as long as you don't also put weight on. Women cannot lose weight by exercise alone - they need to diet too.

tin in eac hand, hands straight above head and lower to touch back of shoulders.

Bodypump is an exercise class with weights, most leisure centres and gyms will have a class. I've found it's the best way to tone up my arms.
