Work clothes help please

Hi. I really need some new tops for work (teacher) for wearing with linen trousers, pencil skirts, knee length shorts etc). I'm a 12 but have nork issues and am v petite, so a lot of shirts either make me look v matronly nork-wise, or are too long.

Ideally I'd like some fitted, cotton, v neck (but not too low - teenage boys!) shirts in really cute prints. I have a lovely Zara one, black with white angels on it 100% cotton but I've not seen anything else even vaguely nice.

Colours that suit me include black, grey, purples if not too bright, deep red - but I'm not v fond of bright colours near my face. White looks awful on me; so does cream.

Please help!

Here are the Bravissimo tops.

Your school is clearly a bit 'posher' than ours then - I can get away with those, but no sleeveless tops or open toes!

How about something like this from M&S?

janeite · 15/06/2008 20:04

Thanks Jackie. I really like this one red and might go and try it on with maybe a little cardigan worn over it? I don't like any of the others though!

Stretch silk?
Cute black wrap but not online in a 14.

janeite · 15/06/2008 21:03

Yes, I like both of those. Although, as most of my bottoms are black, perhaps all black is not ideal. Under £30 would be good!

Maybe this in the light grey?

janeite · 16/06/2008 19:26

Ooh yes, I do like that grey one. Pockets on norks not a great idea though!

Okay - I am willing to extend my search: it doesn't have to be shirts, just nice tops that I can wear in hideously warm classroom, with linen trousers, knee length shorts or pencil skirts please!!!!

Still 100% cotton? Or at least mostly cotton, maybe with lycra for shape?

Heated · 16/06/2008 22:31

How about any of these:

this

kaftan style

circle boarder top

unusual

or this

janeite · 17/06/2008 15:06

Love that first one Heated, although with little sleeves would be even better.

I think the problem is, I am tiny (only 32 back size, 34 at a push) but am an E cup, so I'm very concious of being "busty" and anything with a high neck or flounces makes me feel even more self concious. A v or a wrap would probably be better.

Jackie - just mostly cotton would be fine - just not 100% polyester - shudder!

Wrap?
I like this but depends how low the neckline is.
Ditto this
Probably not enough sleeve

JackieNo · 17/06/2008 19:08

(actually many of those probably too plain for you, sorry)

janeite · 17/06/2008 19:41

Jackie - that's it! I love you! The first one, the red wrap is spot on - I adore it!

Now - I've never seen a White Stuff shop before - can anybody tell me more re: sizes, quality, locations etc?

. As to sizes, not sure - I seem to remember people saying they're quite generous, but might be thinking of Fat Face.

UK stores here.
