Find me a work laptop backpack

I carry it for at least an hour a day and it weighs as much as a small family car.

Budget about £150 but would prefer under £100.

It needs:
Padded, comfy, non-fall down straps
Strong!
Flat base to stand it up.
A seperate laptop pocket/section
Outside water bottle holder.
Zip up outside pocket.
Pref waterproof but that isnt a deal breaker.
Not leather
Not overly work laptop carrier looking iyswim
No big logos/patterns
Not black or grey or brown coloured
Not look like I'm going for a hike!

I'm using a Nordace Sienna which is about the right size but the straps which were never great have gotten thin and twisted.

I also use a Roka rucksack but the straps are too thin to carry any weight.

I was given one for Christmas and it's brilliant. I think it does everything you ask for and has more clever design ideas that you didn't realise you needed.

Have you looked at Fjallraven, they are incredibly hardwearing, come in lots of colours and sizes. We have several that were used as school bags and are still going strong 5+ years later at Uni.

Good thread! I would like one big enough for both laptop and lunch / coffee flask, have left many small lunch type bags on trains.

Kind Bag would recommend a Kind Bag, does all this and looks stylish. Fits a good size water bottle and umbrella in outer pockets plus two smaller ones useful to grab smaller items like my lanyard. Lightweight. Hidden pocket in outer cover back.

I have a Samsonite one, comes up to 4 years now and I absolutely love it. I drag it around London 2-3 times a week by train and tube and it still looks like new.

I have back issues and needed proper support carrying it for nearly one hour. Mine is dark blue, DH had it in black.

Otherwise DD got a Jansport one 4 years ago, that thing survived Y11-13 and now one year uni. It's massive, she has her laptop in a padded sleeve. A side mesh pocket has a small rib but that happened when she crammed her umbrella into it without rolling it up properly.

I like my Stubble backpack, I have the 15L rolltop and it comes in a few colours. I intentionally chose a limited capacity to prevent it getting too heavy, so I'm selective about what I really need to carry.

I had very similar requirements and now have a couple of Kapten&Son bags I rotate through.

Apart from the hiking angle, the Patigonia Refugio meets all your requirements, and is very comfortable to carry.
