Outfit inspo for knee high boots?

On a girls trip this weekend and it looks like we will be out on Friday and Saturday. I think perhaps theatre one night and dinner/cocktails the other night.

So I need to be a little nicer than my usual leggings/trainers/puffer and I have panic ordered these boots from Next - https://www.next.co.uk/style/su937075/g53467

But what to wear with them! I’m still very much a skinny jeans lover with my chunky black boots for casual wear. Could I wear skinnies with them one/both nights, or is that old hat?

I saw a girl on social media wearing a similar style boot with black mini and black polo neck so thought I could recreate that (plus tights!).

Any inspo appreciated from the S&B hive mind. I’m early 30s, 5ft9 and size 8/10 if that helps.

I've seen more people wearing skinnies or leggings tucked into boots recently, with chunky sweaters or long cardigan coats. Looks good, imo. It's so old-fashioned it is due a revival.

I saw someone on social media earlier wearing tailored culottes with similar boots and it looked ace.

I agree ref the cardigan style - I’ve also seen black fitted polo jumper, black skinnies and a long gilet - faux fur, or fluffy style in a lighter colour e.g cream

How about the ubiquitous satin skirt and a jumper?
