How about making it a feature? I think you need halter neck come what may but a flash of hot pink or bright teal at the sides could look cool.

Get a bra that can become a halterneck and then put a strap slippage stopper on the front.

I don't think it matters if a bra shows if its a strong colour and beautiful in its own right in a matching colour. Its only an old grey bra that looks ghastly.
