‘Hollywood Glamour’ shoe dilemma!

I have a friend’s birthday party coming up and am wearing this dress but am clueless as to what shoes to wear!

It hits just above ankle height, I cannot wear real heels (my knees cannot cope with the shift in balance and I have a tendency to fall over🤦🏼‍♀️) and would like closed toes. I am only 5ft though so would probably look like a child in ballet flats!

Normal foot wear is Docs or trainers.

I know there are loads of options out there but I feel a little overwhelmed by the decision (the dress choice took long enough!) so any help would be very gratefully received.

tbh, I would wear the docs.

I do it all the time - fancy dress and docs - chefs kiss

I know it won’t be most people’s choice, but I would wear sequinned low top Converse with that dress in either silver or a bright colour, probably red. Not glamorous maybe, but comfortable

That would be my choice, though I might go hi-tops. I have a pair of glittery (the fabric itself is glittery rather than glitter being stuck onto the shoe) red hi-tops that would look great with this dress.

These are all leather and a bargain

I think you need to be careful with some of the suggestions here that you don’t veer into twenties fancy dress territory with that dress style.
i think the suggestions for something funky and comfy more in your usual style would work so you can be chill and enjoy yourself, like some flashy dms or converse or similar, cool metallic brogues or loafers .
if you want something more glam that’s not Mary jane or too pointy and kitten heel twenties - esque then the esska octavia or lina but perhaps not in silver so you have a bit more of a stylised look rather than fancy dress

If you dont want to spend too much have a look on shoeaholics, they do some gorgeous shoes.

Anyone with any suggestions please?

Ruby Shoos do some gorgeous shoes with slightly chunkier heels, easier to walk in if you're not used to heels.

You'll probably hate this but this is what sprang to mind in a retro just nipping out between scenes kind of way. Alternatively pointed flats with a bar across (as per PPS) are your best bet imo.

I agree with this too - be comfy!
