I got a lovely dress today, but have one HUGE problem with it

It is totally see through

I only noticed when I tried it on at home.

I am not sure wether to keep it or take it back, as I also have to try and but a stitch in the bust bit as it shows off too much.

But I like it though. It is yellow and grey and just nice and summery, and my mate with me and the shop assistant both said it looked lovely on.

So, what are the chances of me findind a slip thing that will go under it ?

I have got a grey thin vest top that i couold wear which would solve the see through problem and bust problem on my top half, but what about underneath ??

Can you wear white or cream camisole/vest under the top bit, and leggings or jeans? Or is the important point that its a dress?

I could wear a slip but it would need to be grey/silver, because you will definatly be
able to see it at the top wear the bustline is.

I could wear it over jeans sometimes, but really wanted to wear it as a dress too.

I have looked for silver/grey slip and found non.

Surely you can find a very lightweight dress type slip to go under it? Last year I got one for a wedding outfit from M and S. Nude colour, silky with a enough lycra to make it comfy. Top part was like a strappy vest and then carried on like a dress down to just above the knees. It has "saved" a a couple of other potential disasters since when wearing thinner summer tops and a white, "slightly see through but only in bright sunshine" skirt. Also a lot cooler than wearing a skinny T shirt under a floaty top.

ah damn, just read the silvery thing. Suggest you trawl the lingerie net websites and see what figleaves et al have this season, save traipsing round the shops. Dress sounds nice though!
