First sunny holiday abroad - going to Greece in August for a week, staying at all-inc plush-ish resort, what the hell do I take?

Can you give me an idea of all the essentials I need to buy, ie - bikni x 1, shorts x 2. Am clueless! Thanks, Dinny

I always overpack.

wheelybug · 13/06/2008 17:24

If on a holiday where a lot of pool/beach action will be required take at least 2 changes of swim wear so you can swim pre lunch, leave it to dry and then have dry swimwear for the pm.

Something easy to throw on over bikini.

Thank you WB

Saggar

A pair of comfy flip flops (havaianas v. comfy - sp? - look in LK Bennett sale, which is where I got mine last year, not that they're that expensive anyway but a bargain always good !)

Where are you going (nosey emoticon) ?

dinny · 13/06/2008 17:33

we are going here www.oceaniaclub.gr/

nervous, haven't flown for 7 years, argh! never been on this type of holiday so hope we have chosen a nice place! gets good reviews though.

Get 2 bikini's - it's cool this year to wear tops and bottoms that don't match, so buy 2 in similar shades that you can swap around so effectivley you end up with 4 bikini 'outfits'

Day time flip flops (Havianias spring to mind)
Ev flip flops (maybe jewelled?)
1 x high heels/wedges for eve
a few summer dresses
a few skirts
lots of strappy vests
s nice white cotton shirt looks fab as a cover up over a bikini
A sarong/kaftan
straw hat
linen trews
shorts

what's the deal on the Havianias? they look like just bog-standard flip flops to me... but more pricey

wheelybug · 13/06/2008 18:03

They're just more comfy - Don't know why but I've never got on with flip flops before but cna wear Havaianas no probs.

wheelybug · 13/06/2008 18:06

I have just bought this to throw on after beach/pool. Usually have a sarong but I can never really look tidy in them (poss cos am a shortarse)

(Mind you am miffed to see they now have a fair bit of availability as I was worried they wrre going to sell out pre-sale at one point).
