Cheapish outfit for meeting

I’ve WFH full time for years and years & have zero workwear, but I have an in-person meeting next week with lots of clients. Problem is that it’s the day before payday so I can only spare £100- £120.

im early 30s, size 12-14, 5ft 9, need sometning that’ll skim my belly, no boobs, legs are quite good.

I’ve got heeled black boots if they could work - everything else is wellies/ trainers/ sandals.

So I’m thinking maybe either wide leg trousers or a skirt/ tights with a shirt? Don’t know if trousers would go with the boots though. My industry isn’t generally formal but I definitely want to look put together.

and not sure if I’ll need a bag 😭 literally just have a backpack, little Uniqlo bags & shoppers/ canvas totes. Maybe I can just carry a notepad & put my keys/ phone in my coat pocket.

Would rather shop in person for this as it’s so out of my comfort zone - I’ve got M&S, next & primark nearby, not much else.

ideas/ thoughts very much welcome!!

As you don't need to be very formal I'd be tempted to wear trousers (fairly plain and businessy, probably 'straight leg' - which seems to be pretty wide these days) with a rollneck jumper in whatever colour suits you and works with the trousers (MandS will have oodles), then add a decent-sized pendant or necklace to dress things up a bit. Black heeled ankle boots would be fine, if your boots are knee-length they'll look a bit odd.

I loathe bags, so I always tote my stuff in a rucksack, even when I'm fully suited and booted. No-one has ever commented or complained.

Haven't shopped for clothes in person since before the pandemic and don't use any of the stores you mention (I'm usually a JL woman for this kind of thing), so can't offer specific suggestions.

Thank you, a jumper is a great idea! Would actually get more wear out of that. Yes they’re ankle boots.
