Recommend an up do for curly hair with a side parting that won't leave my face totally bare please.

I don't want it pulled off my face so would probably leave a bit loose at either side. I don't like it too severe, more a loose messy bun sort of thing, but the ones I've seen online don't seem to work for me. I've always been useless at hair styles!!

Greek style with a hair band or clip. Most of the pictures online are for weddings so very formal tongued curls, but if your hair is naturally curly it will soften it.

Thank you. Could you post a link to something similar, a photo would be fine.

Really simple hairdo that I find looks better when I've got freshly styled curls with plenty of product still left on: Just twist into a low bun and secure the bun with claw clips (number of clips depends on amount of hair and size of clip).

Trick is to bring the hair back very gently so the curl texture remains all over and isn't stretched flat. If you've got shorter lengths at the front, these pieces will naturally fall free to frame the face.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've just come back to this thread as I'm none the wiser and have only now seen your reply.

When you say claw clips, do you mean small ones?

I prefer a high bun as my face looks too long somehow if it's a low bun! But could adapt it to a high bun I presume.

I've always been hopeless at hair styling 😭 I'm tempted to go to a hairdresser and ask her to style it and show me how to do it myself! I'd feel stupid though!

But a hair donut, put your hair in a high pony (leave out your face framing bits) and then slip the donut on and pin your curls around it. Dont do the pony too tight, you’re aiming for that effortlessly shoved up for a bath look, but better!

I have a huge claw clip collection so sometimes use loads of small ones, or two big ones or one huge one. I've got a lot of very course hair and find this a pretty easy, forgiving style.

It definitely works as a high bun too. You just need to make sure you leave curls at the front to frame your face. I find this easier with a low bun but it will depend if you have layers of shorter curls at the front at all.

Just keep everything quite loose so you still get the curl texture throughout.

Thank you. I struggle with the bits around my face as it’s not very short there. I only have huge claw clips, and not as much hair as I used to have!

A friend who has much finer hair than me uses tiny claw clips and instead of one bun, twists lots of little sections up separately.

I swear with textured hair, the harder one tries, the worse the outcome though! You almost want to do it without looking, telling yourself you're just getting it out of the way in order to do the hoovering. Then you'll ace it!

I like a banana clip on curly hair
