Roka London brings back the lucky dip

Saw a post on their fb page today saying that they’re doing the lucky dip again from this Thursday.

presumably to get rid of the sale stock that’s not sold.

Surely everyone who wants to buy one has bought one now. Or are they not long lasting?

Computadora · 19/01/2026 23:47

IME they last well, but I agree that most people will have bought what they want already.

Nooooo.....😂

ruethewhirl · 20/01/2026 00:09

I think I’m going to have to pretend I didn't read this, I so can’t justify another new bag, especially not a ROKA having succumbed to previous lucky dips… 😄

kittykarate · 20/01/2026 15:43

I loved the excitement of lucky dips, but I shopped in the sale this year and for only a few quid more I got what I wanted in the colours I wanted. So I should step away from it (but I'll probably still have a spin!)

yorkshiretoffee · 20/01/2026 15:47

Oh no! I got a lovely bag in the sale this year, I totally don't need anything else.
(But will be heading there on Thursday "just in case")

cheesychipsontheoche · 20/01/2026 18:25

I have all the bags I need but following as I could be persuaded by a lucky dip if they are cheap enough

BananaramaDefence · 20/01/2026 18:28

Not for me this year, as I got a rather shite pair of gloves in last year's sale. A workman on a bin lorry would have been proud of them. I wasn't.

Arlanymor · 20/01/2026 18:48

Ooh thanks for this. I need a new bag. Will give it a little go. Appreciate the heads up!

ruethewhirl · 22/01/2026 08:36

I see it's gone live but they've introduced some 'rules', doesn't look like we're going to be able to state any preferences this time.

I wonder how much takeup there will be. I'm tempted as always, but already have way more bags than I need, so not sure yet.

ruethewhirl · 22/01/2026 08:39

And this is a bit sly imo:
'You are more likely to get a variation of products if you order multiple quantities within one order, rather than placing multiple orders.'

III · 22/01/2026 08:49

Any free delivery codes please? :)

Why is it sly? It’s perfectly reasonable, imo.

Two seconds to “redip” when packing a single order is quick and easy. Cross referencing it with previous orders is much more time consuming.

Maidenjourney · 22/01/2026 09:00

How much is it and what do you get in average ?

Just feels like they're trying to lure people into buying more upfront as opposed to potentially coming back later and placing another order, to me anyway. Added to which this info is buried away in the T&Cs. I know it's on the buyer to check the deal thoroughly before purchase, still feels a tad manipulative to me though, much as I love ROKA.

Re cross-referencing, they're saying we can't make specific requests this year, so presumably they won't be doing any cross-referencing anyway...

Computadora · 22/01/2026 10:09

I really don’t need another bag. But am tempted by the “big” lucky dip - medium/large back pack or travel bag.

OP posts:
Snapespeare · 22/01/2026 10:32

Oh god, I've ordered two biggest ones - I want a Gatwick or Heathrow in a dark colour or leopard I know I'll end up with a Bantry, Canfield or Finchley in a bright colour. I bought a Trafalgar in the sale and do not want another. I'll joyfully accept anything in leopard print.

Snapespeare · 22/01/2026 10:49

All the leopard is sold out anyway, so I have crushed my own dreams!

I know! I'm tempted to try for a Gatwick too, but will definitely get one of the smaller bags in either bright pink or black instead.
Holding my nerve this year, after the fiasco of last year when they couldn't cope with demand. Also annoyed as I thought they weren't doing the lucky dip this year and had their sale plus freebies just after Christmas, so got what I wanted then.
Can't say their marketing strategies are that brilliant!

Does anyone know how much returns postage is? On the website it just says 'for a small fee'.

Here’s a section of the general t&cs. It might be £3:95. I’m not sure if I’m reading it correctly.

ruethewhirl · 22/01/2026 12:45

There was a code for free P&P that I think worked for the past couple of years, I'll try and remember what it was in case they've forgotten to deactivate it...

IncessantNameChanger · 22/01/2026 14:38

Will be interesting to see what others get. I'd take another punt on a large bag, but thays a big list. I'd need to check all the sizes are at least A3. Don't really need another tiny bag or a tote so that puts me off

Snapespeare · 22/01/2026 16:22

theres a different thread - where someone has very helpfully shared that you can look in the ' Shop' app to see what you are getting - to spoiler yourself. I am getting the medium ( not large) Canfield in retro blue nylon - a wishy washy pastel blue and the finchley medium ( not large...) in frost - an equally wishy washy pastel green. I've emailed them to say please either reselect or don't bother and we won't have to go through the rigmarole of a return.
