God I'm soooo annoyed.
I waxed my top lip for the first time on Weds and now I have come out in such lovely whiteheads, about 10 of them.

The therapist did say I might get a few but I think I prefer my hair now!!!!

What the hell can I do about them? I am going out tomorrow and want them gone! I can't really get to a shop either today, so what can I do? I was told to not pick any spots so do I leave them? I have some tea tree oil which I have been plastering on but please someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never doing that again

i usually get theese, so i sympathise !

we have worked out that putting anything on straight after the wax just aggravates and makes it worse, so now I am de tashed with tea tree wax and then just left.

that doesn't help your current situ though !

try some aloe vera gel, it's really soothing

or lavender oil rather than tea tree

where can I buy aloe vera gel from? If I put straight lavender on (and do you mean essential oil lavender as I got some of that) will they be gone by tomorrow morning?!

errrr. maybe, wouldn't like to say for sure though !!! TBH i usually squeeze mine, then put lavender on and then if they're still there the next day smother them in cover up.

most health food shops will sell aloe gel, not sure if you can get it in boots or not.

i'm not being much help here am i !

Do you really squeeze them? I don't know whether to do that! I am guessing it would make the big one look a lot better but don't know if I want to take the chance of them all getting infected and me looking like a hideous walking boil.....
Things we do
If you can buy aloe vera from Holland and Barrett I can do that this pm cos there is one in my local town.

GOD!!!!!!

I've phoned up the salon and tbh she wasn't that helpful really. Told me to take some piriton and make an appointment with the doc....

Yes doc, I've waxed my top lip...can you get rid of my rash....
Doc: 'ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha'

Just squeeze them making sure your hands/nails are clean. Make sure all the pussy bits are gone (if a drop of blood comes out then the spot is "clean") and you'll be healed the next day. I wouldn't bother putting any oil or anything on them, sometimes that makes it worse. Just splash with cold water afterwards.

Sometimes they dry out by themselves in 24hrs, but never when you need them to.

witch stick works wonders

fishie · 13/06/2008 11:22

oh dear whitty, i know this only too well. but hoepfully as they are only small will heal quickly. agree no oil and water is indeed very drying, i find any spots clear up v soon after a swim.

tweezerman tweezers are super you know and just so long as you do it every couple of days doesn't take any time at all.

Whitty · 13/06/2008 11:28

Hi Fishie!

Aaarrgggghhh!

The funny thing is, my husband hasn't even noticed my hair has gone yet!!!!! And it was done on Weds! And he pointed it out to me in Asda about 2 years ago so its taken all this time to pluck (scuse pun) up courage to get it done, and he not even noticed! He will when he gets home though cos I will be a walking whitehead....

I would love to have a go at the old squeezing, but will only do the big one I think, as that is quite obviously headed with white pus eurgh. Just don't want it to end up worse!

JEES!!!!!

Should I get some aloe vera then and squeeze then apply that?

have you been peering at yoruself in magnifying mirror and getting paranoid? i only do mine because now i am ancient some of them are THICK.

Whitty · 13/06/2008 11:45

lol

My tash was quite bad tbh I think, hubby used to stare at it when we talk in bright light
It did need to be got rid of! If I was to go upstairs and use the natural light in bedroom and looked in a mirror I wouldn't need a mag glass cos the spots would be big enough to see without a mag glass I'm sure!

Oooh another thing if anyone knows the answer, will this lot of whiteheads just go and then that will be it? Will they just keep coming and coming for the next month or is it just that my skin has had a reaction and when they are gone that will be it? Does anyone know?

Brangelina · 13/06/2008 13:05

You'll get fewer and fewer as your skin and hair follicles get used to it. In fact, they may never come back. I only get them now if I've een sweating a lot directly after a wax and even then it's one or two.
