Formal wedding

I’m going to a very formal wedding in the Spring. It’s going to be church wedding with a do in a posh house afterwards- I am so out of my comfort zone!
I’m - short 5’2 with stubby legs and a bigger bust and tummy, chubby arms too.
I want to look really stylish, and young and cool, but have no idea what to wear!
I don’t mind spending some money (£250) on something fabulous I’ll wear again, but I really resent laying out this kind of money for polyester! Can I get something made of silk for this price?
help! Not sure what the weather will be doing either, so I have no idea where to start!

Hi, What dress size are you, your approx age and will you be wearing heels? I love the Me & Em jumpsuit posted above, but having lots of Me & Em clothes, they often suit taller women best. Liberty, LK Bennett and Hobbs are all reliable, although Hobbs can be a bit staid. If you are within travelling distance of West London today, Session has a clearance sale at Chiswick Town Hall until 5pm, be prepared to strip off in a communal area.

I'm also curious because church and manor house is quite normal for a wedding and not particularly formal. Is it one of those weddings that require hats?

Have a look at Katya Wildman Bombshell - bit over the original budget, but I have three now and I wear them so often - just change the shoes/bag/shawl combos around and it's a different outfit every time. You can get second hand off ebay or vinted from time to time x

A lot of the options so far are from brands that are better suited to taller people. The best wedding guest dresses I’ve had (also short) were from the petite ranges of Whistles, Reiss or Karen Millen.
