First time posting in this section.

How would you dress this up for a summer wedding, I was thinking pashmina, but would you match bag and shoes the same colour, white or brown, or another colour maybe ?

Thank you ☺️ (I have ordered the brown version)

I'm no style expert but I'd go for cream, or maybe a contrasting colour.

Why, why, why is there no clear indication of the fabric used? Am I missing it somewhere? I want to say it’s a good buy - but as I have no idea what it’s made of, I can’t.

As we’re still in the middle of winter I wouldn’t want to make any decisions about summer wedding wear now. I would just wait and see what sort of things appear in new spring collections and pick accessories that appeal to me and will work together to make an outfit. No need to prescribe rules in advance - instinct is enough.

Edited

normally m&s put fabric under details and care, but you are right it’s missing. Drives me nuts too, when it’s buried, let alone missing. It’s the first thing I want to know.

The strappy sandals in one of the photos look lovely and are fairly dressy, fine for a wedding, I'd say. and of course Julia Roberts' hat is the business.

tartyflette · 15/01/2026 15:27

Darker shoes, lighter bag perhaps? (Cream, not too big?)
It's a lovely dress, definitely wedding-y and doesn't need too much more.

This was my first thought

NewLimeFish · 16/01/2026 00:03

I wouldn't go for a pashmina, and hats are a bit passe now for weddings unless your the mother of the bride. I'd maybe add some cream lacey gloves, red belt and sandals, sweep the hair up on one side and add a big flower hair accessory, maybe. I'd say add a belt, but I don't think it'd work with the drop waist.

Overtheatlantic · 16/01/2026 01:11

Please don’t wear a red belt and sandals. Far too difficult to get the right tone of red. You could go with cream sandals and a pink bag but the dress doesn’t call for any statement piece. It’s fine to keep everything simple.
