Hair Curling Advice

Hi,

I’ve just bought one of those hair curlers that are all over FB etc. I’ve just had a quick go and it seems great. That said, I’m struggling to get my hair to look good like it does when it’s straight. My hair is silver (grey) but is naturally smooth and shiny when it’s been straightened.

The last time my hair was curly was circa 1992 and it had been permed so I have no experience of how to get it to curl nicely now. Does anyone have any tips on products or techniques I can use please? Thank you.

Following as I'm in a similar situation. The gadget works brilliantly but I look a bit like a 50s starlet when I've finished. I turn the curl switch away from my face each side and I've found that straightening the odd bit afterwards makes it look a bit more modern and less Shirley Temple. Hope you get some good advice....!

Which device is it? They one where you kind of drop your hair into it?

Yes, the Tymo one.

My advice would be use a lower heart setting and a lower time.
To get loose waves I used 8 secs on a lower temp
If I used the hottest setting and longest time setting I had real ringlets!!

I started about half way down for a wave effect which seems to have worked. I made the mistake of brushing the other side out instead of using my fingers and it’s gone a bit puffy!

Thank you. Do you use any styling products?

I used a bit of serum to just run through afterwards pulling downwards gently. Try not to fluff outwards ( unless of course that's what you want)
