Anyone wearing trainers in this icy/slippery weather

I have posted similar things before, but this one is about trainers, as that is what I like to wear. And I am seeing most for example when I do the school run, from runners, to dog walkers, others going around in trainers strutting along without a care in the world 😀 and I am there going along very carefully, because what I have on is very slippery on frosty/icy paving.
Admittedly I need leather or other types I have seen about. Certainly more suede etc, instead of mesh/material that the cold goes through.
But not only that, the cold goes straight through the soles.

I have tried a few boots all round great ones, if they’d fitted, from cheap to more expensive like Trespass and another brand I can’t think of now, but my feet were squashed then in an 8, I usually take a 7, then too big.

So I am looking for a few trainer ideas without flat soles. I need a bit of cushioning etc especially with foot problems.

I wear Skechers mainly, and I just find them to not be very good sole wise especially. Even tried some of their boots and no good unfortunately.

So any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest looking at the outdoor trainers. I use Merrell trainers, gore tex so totally waterproof and have good grip.

I have Vans MTE goretex crosspath trainers and they have been amazing the last few winters.
Waterproof, comfortable, warm, not slippy.
Highly recommend.
My husband has had his about 5 years now and they're still going strong.

Thankyou I shall take a look. Yes Merrell does come up when I look sometimes. And I think this is a brand someone like Sports Direct sells, which is better, as at least I can try in store.
We have very little shoe shops left where I live now, and I am no longer a fan of popping up to the West End etc like I did in my younger child free days 🤦‍♀️😀
