What do I wear to an in person interview?

I haven't had a face to face interview for about 10 years, the last 2 roles I was offered, I had only remote teams interviews. But now I have a f2f interview in a couple of weeks, for a client facing business analyst type role, at a company I really want to work for, and I have no idea what people wear to interviews any more!

For reference I'm 44, size 14, and short (5ft 2). The interview involves formal questions, a meet the team, and a presentation to the senior team, so a long session, hard work, and I want to look the part while still being able to feel comfortable and confident! At the moment I live in fine knit jumper dresses and opaque tights for work.

Ive recently lost a chunk of weight so my wardrobe is a bit limited, I have some plain black wide leg trousers but I think they are a bit big now. I do have a black suit jacket, and a pale pink blazer which both fit nicely though. I dont want to spend a lot as I'm still losing weight. Happy to scour vinted though! What would you wear if you were me?

My reply was intended to bump the thread. Maybe someone else will suggest something.
Well done on the weight loss.

You can look nice without spending a lot.

Whichever jacket you feel best in, the trousers if they fit, but otherwise Sainsbury’s do decent and inexpensive office work trousers.

I usually go for grey pencil skirt with tights and light pink or light blue shirt, with stud earrings. H&M does good staples!

I think we are twins. I'd go for the pink jacket, black trousers (safety pins at the waist if you need) and a cream/white blouse or top.

I would wear what you describe above if it's suitable. I have been known to hang around outside offices at 8.45 to see what people are wearing or look on LinkedIn.

If you have smart trousers you like but that are a bit big (congrats on the weight loss), you can get them tailored to fit your new shape. My local alterations place charges less than a tenner.

Wear with a fine knit and a silky shirt underneath in case their office heating is on turbo - I dress for the cold and then overheat in the office. Also, a visible collar somehow smartens everything up.

Otherwise, the knitted dress with loafers and tights would work fine, especially if you add a blazer-type jacket for smartness.

Good luck!
