Shoes for a birthday party

I want to wear this dress https://katyawildman.com/products/stevie-velvet-ruffle-dress for a party in February. I wore it over Christmas with black boots then at home to entertain with black tights and bare feet.

I find shoes problematic because I'm tall - 5'10 - and far from willowy. The dress makes me feel confident and suits me. Do I wear black boots (as in no-one will be looking at my feet in a venue) or what flat shoes could I wear with it? Thinking they need to be black. Long and pointy won't work on my size 7 1/2 feet and at 61 Mary Janes make me feel like Jean Brodie. Back in 1986 I had the perfect pair!!

Thank you!

Have a look at Esska shoes. They do some lovely flats in half sizes.
