Shopping my wardrobe in 2026

I have committed to a buying break (no clothes in 2026) and feel miserable already 🤦‍♀️.
I’m starting this thread to cheer myself up and rediscover the clothes I already own. I have been tracking CPW for all my clothes for several years but recently it has become automatic and boring.

I would like to rediscover the joy of putting outfits together, instead of buying new things first and then figuring out how they fit together! Also being more mindful about what I wear and how I feel about it.

I use an app called Stylebook to organise my clothes, it helps but I don’t think it’s necessary. If anyone wants to join me, great 😊.

This is what I wore today:

Yesterday’s and today’s outfits. On Thursday I put a ribbon scarf on the handbag for the first time in my life 😊.

I’m going to take a break from this thread as I’m experimenting with new ways to curb my shopping addiction I have my phone’s display in greyscale. This makes it much more difficult to use my wardrobe app - I still track everything I wear but putting outfits together on the screen is nearly impossible.

I really enjoyed this thread and I hope I will be able to return to it once I feel I have better control over my shopping habits.

Thank you so much @robertpisking that dress was originally from Toast but I bought it on Vinted which is where I get the majority of my clothes.

@CortieTat huge thanks to you for starting and maintaining this lovely thread. It's been such a pleasure having the kind and supportive interactions this thread has brought out on what can otherwise be a somewhat harsh board at times. And it's been great "getting to know" you and seeing your gorgeous outfits especially those scarves and fair isle knits. Wishing you the best of luck with curtailing your spending and hope to see you around on other threads in future xx

Thank you so much @Whowhatwerewolf, I really enjoy posting here and it’s great to see your and others’ outfits. There are visible themes in PPs outfits which offer glimpses of their uniqueness, style and personality.

My April started well but then I totally lost it in the second half of the month. I’ve set my phone to greyscale and so far it’s working, especially on vinted.

I always enjoy seeing what you wear and how you @CortieTat and others put outfits together. You have given me a confidence to have a go with my existing clothes.

Look forward to your return.

Thank you Whowhatwerewolf!
Another one here who really enjoyed seeing the outfits. Thanks to all, great thread.

How is everyone doing? I turned off my greyscale filter a couple of days ago and decided to revisit this thread, I’ve really missed this place ❤️

The weather is beautiful over here, sunny and windy. My teenager got me properly into bag decoration.

Today’s outfit and my bag which has an outfit of its own.

Fabulous key chain! I’ve missed this thread too. I like dressing myself up and creating my outfits on the app picture thingy. I’ll post mine in a bit. It’s actually pretty greyscale anyway 😅

stnvcfo · 06/06/2026 12:00

Here you go. Cold wet and grim and I’m working.

Lovely to see you back @CortieTat & @stnvcfo.
I went to Mallorca for a few days for a patio door installation & a lot of cleaning. So took shorts & black trousers/skirts & white vest tops. On Ryan air with no check in luggage so there was very little space due to the bedding we also had to take.

Welcome back @stnvcfo and @Cantonet

I really like your trousers @stnvcfo and how the scarf repeats the colours of your watch. Very cool 👌

These are lovely outfits @Cantonet and you’re great at matching the bag and rose gold accessories. Gives me very relaxed holiday vibes.

I’m travelling and wearing two different jeans pieces together for the first time in my life. It actually feels good, the skirt is wide, grey and very long and the jacket is over 20 years old, straight and short.
My bag is wearing a chocolate ball charm today. This bag decor thing is really addictive.

Very jealous of your Mallorca trip @Cantonet, cleaning notwithstanding! And very nice to see bags getting their own platform for dressing up.
another chilly day here, I have a polo neck on!! 😮

So chic @stnvcfo.
Its the contrast of the brown & the hammered gold against the simplicity of the black 👌🏼
Those bag charms are very striking @CortieTat.
The weather is schizophrenic here, so I'm struggling.
It was so chilly here last night
Layers are the way to go I guess.

CortieTat · 12/06/2026 21:50

Love your earrings and the whole outfit, it’s simple but very chic. Beautiful bag too @stnvcfo

I’m at home today watching the rain, was out with my little one in a bicycle trailer (it’s waterproof) but the weather is awful. It was sunny and nice yesterday, so sunny I needed my sun hat.

I spent some time today making a spare buckle strap for the bag I wore yesterday.

Earlier this year I took it to a local cobbler who really didn’t do a great job so I took matters in my own hands and cut, painted, burnished and sew leather for the first time in my life. It’s the horizontal strap in the middle, I think I did well for a total beginner 💪.

The weather is unpredictable, I wore my winter hoody today. Also got caught in the middle of a thunderstorm with hail, no raincoat. It was quite an experience.

Had to replace my sunglasses, sat on my old pair in the car and they fell apart. It looks like I won’t be needing them though.

Sorry about your rubbish weather@CortieTat.
It's rained a lot here but has been sunny most evenings. I love taking the dog out & spotting birds. I'm lucky to live next to a nature reserve.
I can hear the birds using the Merlin app & I've managed to see a pair of Greater White throats, a Stonechat & a pair of Linnets this week. Plus the house martins were swooping really low over my head about 7.45pm in the last patch of sun.

Love your accessories @Cantonet you’re really rocking the rose gold theme.

I need to check the app you mentioned, I live in a small village surrounded by forest.

It rained probably over ten times including hail and several thunderstorms. I just went shopping and been sitting at home otherwise.

I’ve had this skirt for several years, have forgotten how versatile it is. I’m glad I found it.
