Please tell me some similar brands

I don’t get out much for health reasons and also for health reasons my life has sort of been on hold for several years so I am fairly unaware of brands other than the few I have worn for a very long time.
I’m feeling a bit that life is passing me by so have started looking at my appearance as part of overall changes.
Could anybody tell me the names of anything with similar vibes to my old favourites please so that I can branch out and add these to my online shopping searches?
I love Boden (but generally the vintage stuff), Joules, Monsoon (but again vintage stuff), White Stuff and Fatface.
Any newer brands that I’m missing out on please?

Hush, &other stories, Passenger Clothing, Marks and Spencer’s (have really upped their game!) should get you started and mostly in same price range as the brands you mention.

You could just look on Vinted for new or new without tags stuff from the brands you already like?

I've been racking my brain but can't think of any more recent brands in that niche tbh - the ones you've mentioned sort of have it sewn up! Can you get to a big John Lewis to get some in-person ideas?

Yes, I love vinted shopping but just wondered what else to try.
There is a John Lewis in the nearest big city but I can’t get there without help and I don’t like being in busy big places anyway so hence online shopping.

Sounds like you've been having a tough time of it, that's v hard. But great that you're focusing on dressing to please yourself in 2026, i find dressing nicely us a great lift!

Can you tell us a little bit more about what you like? Dresses? Trousers & tops?

There are loads of brands you could browse for inspiration and once you see styles you like perhaps you could find on vinted. Here'a a few more worth a look:

Mint Velvet
Plume
Toast
Gudrun Sjoden
Seasalt
Anthropologie

These are a mix of budgets but might be good for inspiration & there are good sales on now

Good luck, i hope you find something gorgeous!

@2026IsMyYear thanks for those suggestions.

I spend most of my time in jeans to be honest and need long sleeved tops summer and winter as I have to keep my arms covered as this was my original cancer site. I do use factor 50 of course but take a belt and braces approach.

I generally like maxi skirts but want to try knee length with boots now I have lost the weight gain from steroids. Can’t wear heels.

I am fussy about textures and don’t like the feel of wool or god forbid fleece.
Love embroidered things, devore velvet, details.

For special occasions I used to like LK Bennett or Ghost frocks but don’t go anywhere that dressy now.

I’m late fifties and size 14/16 with big boobs.

I am interested in trying other looks as I know I have pretty much looked the same since the 90s.

@Sweetiedarling7 I find fashion stylists/influencers quite helpful to follow. There’s plenty that are not to my taste though so it would very much depend on the style you’re going for.
I really like the French brands, Sandro, Sezane and Maje.

You probably already know about them, but a reminder that East still sell online, I’ve had some lovely things over the last couple of years.

I had forgotten East!

Hooray! The shops have all gone, but the online store is still there (and still legit, not like dodgy Debenhams online etc). And they don’t tend to sell through places like John Lewis, unlike most others, so you don’t come across them unless you’re looking.
