I quite like them but not sure. They are not too expensive so I would probably only last a season or two. I’m trying to be a bit more discerning about what I buy instead of just adding to cart. They just seem a bit ‘out’ and different to what is currently around elsewhere so unsure.
Do you wear them with skinny jeans?
Maybe a skirt or dress?

ps anyone who says ‘If I like them, then that’s all that counts’ or ‘you’re the only one who has to like them’ will be ignored 😂

These?

Well, they’re polyester, so to me they wouldn’t even be worth their £22 sale price.

The style isn’t offensive, otherwise. Prefer the mid-calf version - but I can’t imagine buying or wearing polyester boots.

Sexnotgender · 08/01/2026 12:00

They’re pretty dated but if you like them who cares what anyone else thinks.

BeardedBarley · 08/01/2026 12:02

i think they’re very dated looking, incredibly so if paired with skinnies.

Agree. I did say they weren’t expensive, but really not prepared to buy something expensive im not likely to wear.
currently having an issue in my head about knee high or even calf length boots. Are they to be worn with skinny jeans? I’ve only just ventured into baggy or barrel jeans territory and just can’t work out how they work with boots.

I like cowboy style boots but they're a bit too knee high for me. Prefer them in the black if you're going to get them though - I think that makes them look more timeless than dated.

What boots are currently not dated?

Op like you I am puzzled what boots to wear with barrel or wide leg trousers. So I await with interest for answers.

KateBushAgain · 08/01/2026 12:26

I still wear knee length boots but with leggings rather than jeans . If teamed with a blazer it’s quite smart. It has to be good quality leggings not cheap ones.
other than that I’d wear them with longer dresses.
To the pp about barrel & wide leg , I tend to wear trainers .

PuppiesProzacProsecco · 08/01/2026 15:12

Agree with @KateBushAgain - trainers for barrel/wide legs. Uggs if it's snowing. Knee high riding style boots with leggings, slim jeans and skirts/dresses. Cowboy boots are only for floaty dresses/denim skirts in summer. And I say that as a big fan of a good cowboy boot.

2026IsMyYear · 08/01/2026 15:22

I don't particularly like those boots & think they're cheap looking (which i know they are)

I have long leather black ones but i wouldn't consider wearing with skinny jeans, mainly because i haven't worn skinny jeans since 2017.

I wear mine with midi dresses (not summer dresses & i wouldn't wear mine in summer) or cropped wide leg trousers & an midi kilt style denim skirt.

As a style they are absolutely not out of style - have a look at sites like ba&sh, maje, sandro, sezane & anonymous copenhagen, they all have versions of western boots & can be useful for ideas how to style
