AGEING SKIN - What’s your GO-TO product?

It’s the LAST YEAR OF MY THIRTIES, and I’ll be honest — I’ve had a VERY STRESSFUL LIFE. I’ve lived through DOMESTIC ABUSE, spent periods LIVING IN REFUGES WITH MY CHILDREN, and I’m parenting TWO CHILDREN WITH NON-VERBAL AUTISM AND HIGH SUPPORT NEEDS. I’ve also struggled with EATING DISORDERS for much of my life.

Not surprisingly, my face has CAUGHT UP WITH THE LIFE I’VE LED, and I’m finding it difficult to come to terms with that now that things are finally BEGINNING TO STABILISE. It feels hard accepting visible ageing just as life is starting to feel SAFER AND MORE SETTLED.

I’ve TRIED AND TESTED a lot over the years — including FILLERS AND BOTOX. I overdid it at one point and was really unhappy with the “PILLOW” EFFECT, so I haven’t had any top-ups for over a year (Also cannot really afford it anymore!) These days I’m much more cautious and focused on what GENUINELY HELPS, rather than quick fixes.

The two things I TRULY SWEAR BY are the SHARK LED MASK and ESTÉE LAUDER ADVANCED NIGHT REPAIR OVERNIGHT SERUM. I’m also prioritising SLEEP (when I can …) Being more conscious about my DIET and limiting sugar, caffeine and alcohol (Not so easy!) Drinking plenty of HERBAL TEA (I don’t like water), and doing GENTLE EXERCISE.

What I’d really love to hear is what other mums have ACTUALLY FOUND MAKES A DIFFERENCE? What’s been WORTH THE MONEY, and what’s NOT? Any recommendations for PRODUCTS, TREATMENTS, SKINCARE ROUTINES OR TOOLS that genuinely helped would be really appreciated.

Thankyou in advance.

Weekly veg box.

(Please cease and desist with the capital letters - it is headache inducing, and reads as shouting.)

Tretinoin.

Agree please stop the capital letters.

Maybe if you stop shouting you’ll be less stressed

Lobelia123 · 06/01/2026 07:32

Tret + daily religious suncare + lots of smiling ... think 'up' and even with lines or visible signs of ageing, you will look good because happiness is very attractive :).... well thats my theory anyway

I like the capital letters being used to emphasise words as it breaks the small text up!

Medik8 crystal retinal is great and comes in different strengths.

Medik8 pro collagen peptide cream. I prefer it to the night restore cream.

Medik8 Niacinamide peptide serum.

Medik8 radiance day cream with vitamin c.

Thwn every now and then I have a change and use Dr Jackson’s products.
Dr Jackson’s day cream, night cream and face and eye essence.

Anthea Turner’s Balm 6 as a leave on mask. I got given this and thought it would be crap but it’s lovely and I have bought two more as it’s lovely to run through hair and use on hands etc. Smells lovely.
