Coloured Bra advice

I am off to a party on saturday - have purchased a new dress here

It fits really well but you can, every now and again, see flashes of bra. As it's such a bright colour dress, should I go for:

  1. white bra
  2. black bra
  3. try and get a bra that's a similar colour
  4. flesh coloured bra

whatcha think style guru's???

auntyspan you must go to bravissimo

it will change your life

i bet you are a 32f or something

i used to wear a 34c and i went to bravissimo and im actually a 30f (!)

orangehead · 12/06/2008 09:55

No help to you but I have a bra that colour, got it from next but just looked on the website it not on.
Same colour or black, def not white or skin colour. It doesnt look like the type of dress that would show much bra. Love the dress btw

I have bras from rigby and peller and bravissimo

but my fave everyday bras were from Tescos in a 2 pack - dark pink and burgundy 36D

They are fab!

zippitippitoes · 12/06/2008 10:01

i have two nice bras from new look

i just went round trying on everywhere until i found ones that fit

ilost weight and have had to buy loads as i gpot smaller and smaller

i was a 40 c and now have 34d and 36 c

Enid · 12/06/2008 10:03

also an m and s one

I like the ones that have a bit of padding in the cup - not for extra cleavage (unnecessary) but for nipple hiding and general shape

zippitippitoes · 12/06/2008 10:06

i agree with that too

i have two and mand s ones as well

cantg afford expensive ones because i am not confident about staying the same shape/size

the new look one is padded tirqouise with embroidered flowers and is possiblyh a balcony one...not sure dont know these terms lol

to me it looks and feels like a much more expensive one but the main thing is it fits

i think trying them on until you foind the right size works...tho it is tedious

Enid · 12/06/2008 10:07

I have a very 'full' cup according to rigby and p woman

which means the balcony or half cup style look minging as my bosom bulges over the top

nailpolish · 12/06/2008 10:08

same here enid

that 'four tit' look isnt good is it

These but they seem a bit more blue than green

Enid · 12/06/2008 10:10

LOL @ 4-tit

zippitippitoes · 12/06/2008 10:10

ah well you may find that the full bit starts to disappear as you get older

auntyspan · 12/06/2008 10:23

I tried a balcony bra on once and it pushed my tits up so far I could rest my chin on them.

Does Bravissimo have shops or is it just online? Their stuff looks gorgeous.

will go shopping at lunch and see what I find - thanks for all the help!

MrsBadger · 12/06/2008 10:46

yes they do have shops
if you have one within 50miles it is worth the trip

nappyaddict · 12/06/2008 11:01

is it worth paying the extra for a bravissimo bra if you are small of norkage like moi?

they only do big sizes, nappy

nappyaddict · 12/06/2008 11:03

oh only c. what about the rigby and peller place - is that only for big norkers too?

MrsBadger · 12/06/2008 11:05

no r&p is for everyone

if there is the slightest chance you might be a d (ie if you think you are a c but your current bras arent' quite right) Bravissimo is worth a go

Enid · 12/06/2008 11:10

I first went to r and p about 5 years ago

had been wearing a 34B for years

turns out I was 36D

it really varies. i'm mostly a 10/12 but sometimes buy a 14 in tops to accomodate my jelly belly. i usually get a 32 back but i heard you aren't meant to be able to pull it far away from your back and i can stretch mine loads.

nappyaddict · 12/06/2008 11:48

have started a new thread so i can stop hijacking this one!!

MrsBadger · 12/06/2008 11:52

you could well be a 30d then - get to Bravissimo

nappyaddict · 12/06/2008 12:03

the cynical part of me is saying they will just tell me i'm a d to sell me a bra.

mazzystar · 12/06/2008 12:12

nappy - try john lewis - they have a full range from diddy to whopping - lots of the same brands as bravissimo and their fitters are expert too.
