Reiss sizing and model - what trickery is going on here

At 5ft 7 a 27 inch inseam sits at my mid calf so how do they look ankle skimming on a model who is 5 ft 10 ?

That's got to be a mistake... as in the trousers you received were mistakenly labelled as a size 8?? Do you have a measuring tape at home that you can use to double check the inseam length? I would return them and email customer services, or try on the same trousers in store as a comparison if I was able to.

No mistake. - I have them in navy, purchased last year in size 10, and the inside seam is indeed 27 inches and they sit way higher than on the model who is 5ft 10.

It is also possible that people have different proportions - and ratios of leg/torso are really different between you and the model.
Or you possibly got a petite size? Or, maybe it's defective.
I'd visit the store.

I bought some 27 inch trousers by mistake recently. Im 5 foot 5 and they looked ridiculous half way up my calves. Like Id put children's trousers on. I cant see how they are that long on the model when they were shorter than that on me. I don't have freakishly long legs or anything.

The only reason I can think of then is if the trousers are a tighter fit around your legs and pulled up by this. But it seems like a dramatic difference since the model is 3 inches taller than you. Very mysterious indeed

My height is in my legs, they are long and slender and I have a short upper body, if that makes sense. I guess I’ll have to just pay more attention to inside seam.
they’re fine in the summer as they look cropped but I wanted to wear tomorrow night with ankle boots and they look ridiculous.

The petite are 25 inside seam.

Think I’ll have to measure my legs. I don’t know what length my own inseam is.
I confess I did not check the inside seam measurement when bought them
and went by the the picture of the model.

Might the model be in the long option? I’d assume so, another 2 inches on yours to 29inches

To be fair I am 5'8 and always go for a 30/31 inch inseam, same proportions as you. With that being said, if I saw those trousers on a 5'10 lady I would assume they'd be long enough on me. Really surprising that they fit her like that. If you can leave reviews of the product on the website I would definitely be warning people 😂

I would say the model is almost certainly wearing the 8L version which has a 29inch inside leg.

Oh yeah that could be it - they could have said so in the description.

I love Reiss but I find their sizes very inconsistent.

I have mistakenly bought Reiss trousers thinking they would fit length wise because I’m 5’ 10, a few times. Always too short even in the long length. I can only conclude they are liars 😂

Plus the models are really very thin as well as tall

I think those model measurements often lie! Also they lie about leg lengths of the actual trousers.
I’m 5’4” with a 29” inside leg but so many times I’ve bought a regular length which is supposed to be 29” but they have been so long I can stand on the extra material!
My 5’2” mum has a 27” inside leg so there’s no way this model is 5”10 if those trousers are definitely a 27” leg

Seeing as I'm also 5'5" and buy 27" trousers regularly, your legs may not be freakishly long - but they are about 6 inches longer than mine.

Because the model is often not wearing the clothes that are manufactured for mass sale but a sample. Clothes are pinned, trimmed, tailored, padded etc, and are also digitally edited to remove wrinkles, odd shadows and proportion.

The one in the photo will be a sample produced for photography before the garment was mass produced.

I used to work in retail and we could buy the photo shoot samples sometimes, they were all cut and pinned to fit the model to look like the final fit. So she probably has a longer version to show what the length would be like on an average height person.

It is most likely an error with the website content rather than with the trousers or the humans wearing them…

I bought these this week and I was surprised at how short they are.

I’m 5ft 3 and bought the regular length and they only just hit my ankles.

Not sure of my inside leg measurement but could take a measurement and/or a pic if you’d like.
