Snuggly dressing gown - not oodie

Hesitate to put this is style as this is very much not stylish! DH bought me an oodie dressing gown for xmas and its lovely and soft and snuggly but im sending back cos when i put it on the pockets basically stack up together on my front. Its really odd placement which makes them virtually unusable as pockets - if i put my phone in them it would be swinging around in my front never mind i cant even get into them cos theyre on top Of each other. my hands are naturally going to the side looking for pockets in the seam. He even bought two sizes to check and its the same with both (and any smaller would be too small).
So im looking for an equally fluffy and warm robe to put on on my way to the shower in the morning (our house is chilly) and also wear around on chill days that has side pockets and preferably a nice hood like oodie. Im an 18-20 so probably not a one size fits all.
Any recommendations where to look? The only place we have locally is marks and spencer so will look there but suspect this is an online job. Budget about £40 but will stretch if needed. TIA

I bought a lovely fluffy hooded one in sainsburys - but last year.

what sort of fabric are you looking for ? ‘Sherpa’ lining like the oodie or faux fur etc ?

I buy fluffy dressing gowns from TK Maxx, they're never a thing of beauty, so I don't see the point of spending £££ on them, but they are super cosy.

For a summer dressing gown (not fluffy) Toast does some lovely ones (which are worth spending the £££ on).

Definitely looking for fluffy - it was the sherpa oodie dressing gown i tried and it was lovely but couldnt get over the pocket placement.
Tk maxx is a good thought - i have one close enough - tho in opposite direction to m&s unfortunately!

Never thought of sainsburys either tho buy a lot of clothes there - was hoping for a bit of a feeling of luxury to keep me warm between the bed and shower and over pjs (currently have a waffle cotton one and putting it on straight out of bed is like stepping into an ice bath!) - but if sainsburys does the job cheaper i wont be complaining!!

I have the Rosie one from M&S which is lovely. Mine is last years though without a hood.
I have a top made of the fabric from this Seasalt one which is very snuggly so might be worth a shot as it’s in the sale.

@darknights44 i dont like pull on dressing gowns either, especially if you want to put your face on wearing one

madameimadam · 28/12/2025 11:20

My DH bought me the Rosie one from M&S and I ca honestly say that it’s the cosiest, softest, fluffiest dressing gown I’ve ever had!

CalzoneOnLegs · 28/12/2025 11:20

@darknights44 cotton strictly for summer ! Could do click and collect on the TU one, they refund straight away if not suitable. Good luck, a cosy dressing gown is a must

CalzoneOnLegs · 28/12/2025 11:22

@Comefromaway that looks lovely ❤️

Isabelle70 · 28/12/2025 11:53

I have a Seasalt hushing gown, no hood but really good quality fleece and keeps me warm before and after a shower. The print is a bit much for me but I sacrifice that over quality and warmth.

ThejoyofNC · 28/12/2025 12:28

Housecat234 · 28/12/2025 12:30

I’ve got a Tesco’s men’s one. I’m a tall size18-20 and it’s massive, long, soft and fuffy. Think the price was good too.

HouseWithASeaView · 28/12/2025 12:44

I also recommend TK Maxx as they have such a variety.

I love the M&S Rosie fleece ones. They're very thick & warm in my equally chilly house.
