Sports bra recommendations for running, size 28G

ohwhattodo1 · 27/12/2025 15:48

I've recently started Couch 2 5k, and am wearing a rubbish old sports bra.
After my last run (week 4) my boobs are really sore from lack of proper support, so I'm looking for any recommendations please for a good bra for running. My usual size is 28G, so I'm not sure if sports bras run true to size or not.
Have an M&S and Bravissimo close by so can try things on rather than being limited to online only. (I'm aware M&S mainly start at a 30 back, so may need a size 30F/G in M&S)
Thanks in advance.

Panache non wired sports bra is brilliant. The wired one is good too but I prefer no wires. It comes in your size.

Fantasie Elevate does a 30 in your size. Maybe have a try on?

I’m going to buy this Bravisismo one - i run and am 28FF and use their own brand bras. The Freya ones give me rashes. I like this one as i think it looks less bra like and more crop top like and maybe when it’s hot i can go without a t shirt

Thanks all, I will see if I can try on these in Bravissimo.

@EspanaPorfavor I really like that bra so will definitely look for that one, thanks.

shock absorber are very good. I don't do the running specific one as i find it too hard to fasten...

I've had nike alpha skins too which are good. I've seen them in sport direct but i've always bough direct from nike.

Freya from.Bravissimo is the best sports bra I've ever found. Comfortable enough to take deep breaths in, even.

Seconding panache, think mine is wired but it's very supportive at a size 34H

Another vote for Maaree here.

Just to update, if it helps anyone, I went with:

Shock absorber (they only had it in navy in my size):

This one seems really good, very firm band and straps. Starts at a 30 back, so went with size 30FF.

And Panache Endurance

My usual size of 28G was the best fit. Back strap is on the loosest setting. Straps are tightest they can be, but can easily be made a racer-back with the j-hook.

Both bras really easy to get into.

Was very tempted to try Maaree, but was unsure of sizes, and they only offer one free exchange, so couldn't be bothered with the potential faff/cost to get the right size at the moment, but may try in the future.

@EspanaPorfavor did you get the Move 360 Bravissimo? I tried this but the 28G was too tight, and 30G I was on the tightest back strap. I preferred the look of the Panache Endurance on me so went with that instead.

And oh, M&S was rubbish - ALL their sports bras in-store start at a size 32 back, so no good at all.

I did! I bought a 30 back in the end. Very happy with it! Glad you found a couple you love!

ohwhattodo1 · 12/01/2026 16:59

@EspanaPorfavor that's great! Like you, I have a vision for the future where I'm brave enough to wear it on it's own once the weather warms up! Happy running!
