Best leggings for ‘sucking you in’?

I’ve been losing weight in 2025 and have done really well. I’m looking so much better and am loving wearing things that I never used to, like leggings. I used to live in black maxi skirts, as I’ve always had fat legs. My body, although vastly improved, rather resembles a melted candle! I’d love a pair of (compression?) leggings that will hold me in, and slim my legs and tummy a bit.
Sweaty Betty is out. I have teenage daughters and know that they don’t last as long as Lululemons. I definitely haven’t ruled out the latter, but they’re pricey! I don’t want Fabletics as I can’t be arsed with their subscription model and cancelling, etc. I’ve had a look on Vinted but either they’re weird patterns, or 3/4 length which I definitely do not want.
Any ideas for this leggings novice? Many thanks.

I got some Adanola leggings for Christmas, they’re lovely and ‘firm!’

ramonaquimby · 26/12/2025 22:20

Much prefer Sweaty Betty to Lululemon leggings

Genuinely love the TikTok halara leggings for gym style leggings. For normal day to day wear I have lovall winter leggings.

MaarvaCarassi · 26/12/2025 22:23

Oh, I was going to say Sweaty Betty Power Leggings. I really like mine.

MaarvaCarassi · 26/12/2025 22:24

I don’t understand, why don’t you buy Lulemons if you like them?

JMSA · 26/12/2025 22:25

It seemed like no time at all until my girls had holes in their SBs. Maybe they were just unlucky.

I’ve already explained that they’re pricey, and wondered if a cheaper or even better alternative was out there.

Sorry, you totally did - I missed that.

I find that Nike leggings hold you in quite well as well, but maybe Nike + SB leggings are more sportswear than every daywear.

Defiantly41 · 26/12/2025 22:44

Sweaty Betty Power leggings. My oldest pair have been washed and worn weekly for over 4 years and still look great, the more recently bought ones ( tend to get a new pair per year) also looking good. Your daughters must be very unlucky!

FredaMountfitchet · 26/12/2025 22:47

M&S the £30 ones
Worn daily washed 2x a week and utterly bomb proof
Strongly suspect a big brand manufactures them .

CoastOfXmasPast · 26/12/2025 22:53

@FredaMountfitchet please can you link M&S ones?

mondaytosunday · 26/12/2025 23:14

Shapermint have decent compression leggings.

Vetoncall · 26/12/2025 23:44

LNDR Chisel leggings are really compressive but still comfortable: https://lndr.com/products/chisel-8-8-legging-black?_gl=1nluoxu_upMQ.._gs*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQiAgbnKBhDgARIsAGCDdlen0zFMsvRRseJnWzub2eABAnubPw41q8SKay9EEgeVlTybvTMZUB0aAtqYEALw_wcB&gbraid=0AAAAABQ66JGeiq6fsrUuuPCaLk5pNu0Bt

I have tons of Lululemon leggings - Wunder Trains are probably the best for what you want but I wouldn't say any of their leggings are real hold you in types. They used to do a style called All The Right Places which are my absolute favourites, they're incredibly flattering, but they don't sell them any more. I prefer Lulus in general but SB Powers are better if you want them for holding you in imo.

CHISEL 8/8 Legging Black

Taking center stage, THE CHISEL Leggings are our No. 1 Bestseller; The legging that put LNDR on the map. These are the most sculpting performance leggings on the planet (you can quote us on this) There's no other legging comparable. Think: If Michelang...

Halara leggings off Tik tok are brilliant! I’ve got four pairs.

Mabobsleigh · 27/12/2025 04:04

Another vote for sweaty Betty power leggings, mine have been washed twice a week for a year and look like new, great tummy control

NotFragileLikeAFlowerFragileLikeABomb · 27/12/2025 04:05

CRZ YOGA! they’re a lulu dupe and the best leggings I’ve ever had

NotFragileLikeAFlowerFragileLikeABomb · 27/12/2025 04:06

But buy from Amazon not their own website (can return via Amazon but not directly, weirdly)

SnowDaysAndBadLays · 27/12/2025 04:12

Shapermint, they really suck you in, I love their vest tops too.

ZenLikeAlways · 27/12/2025 05:33

Spanx

I’m after leggings too. Looking for ones that hold me in and good for the gym, yet comfy to wear all day too.

I just got some blakeley leggings. I’m not a fan of the sweatshirts, but thought I’d give the leggings a try. They’re buttery soft and hold you in, without feeling restricted.

I’ve had loads of SB worn and washed to death - I find mine start to bobble after several wears and washes. I’ve continued to wear them for ages and I’ve only had one pair that has had a hole. For this reason I only buy them when on sale.

I found gymshark are terrible quality. Holes in them very quickly - but definitely hold you in.

Needlenardlenoo · 27/12/2025 07:45

I've found Sweaty Betty great quality personally. Buy in the sale? If you're wearing them as daily wear rather than sweating on them at the gym, they shouldn't need washing all that much.

JMSA · 27/12/2025 07:47

Thank you very much - you’ve all been very, very helpful!

I’ve got these they are ££ but have lasted and washed brilliantly. From Next I'm thinking of buying this from Next - SPANX Black

Came on to say Halara too
Such good everyday leggings.
Miraculous holding in of leftover skin from large weight loss demonstrated on multiple SM if that’s an issue.
The pockets are v handy.
Some on here have had issues with delivery/returns but I have returned Halara with no issues and swift refund from TT. My deliveries have always been Royal Mail which is the best delivery for me.

Franklin101 · 27/12/2025 09:48

SB quality has deteriorated massively over the last few years - I have old ones which I've had got years and have aged brilliantly, and newer ones which have got holes in very quickly!
