Affordable Alternative to Loewe? Anyone got a Lauburu?

I have a birthday coming up and some Xmas money to spend.

I found a Spanish handbag brand I quite the look of - I don’t suppose anyone has one of these/has seen one in the flesh?

I like the look of the Boudicea model in chocolate or taupe.

alternatively, does anyone have another suggestion for an alternative to the Loewe puzzle? Max £400

I don’t have one of these but I would be leery. I can’t find any reviews for this website from sources I would consider trustworthy, like TrustPilot. And the name Lauburu just makes them harder to “search” - you get a bunch of results for the lauburu symbol, etc. Also, it concerns me that when I did a reverse image search on one of their purses, I got matching results from a lot of random, foreign sites. It’s possible Lauburu is “real” and these other sites stole their content. But what worries me most is that this brand appears to exist on Facebook, Instagram, and maybe some influencers’ social media account; I don’t see coverage of it anywhere else, even in Spanish. Maybe I’m just missing the info, but I wouldn’t feel safe spending my money with them, unless someone comes in this thread and says, “yes, they’re amazing, and here’s a photo of my bag as proof, and it came from the EU and not China.” Without that kind of endorsement, I wouldn’t order.

I adore the Loewe puzzle bag but it’s too pricey. I was hoping for some Spanish or Italian made leather to fit the Loewe vibe!

Hereu Bags are a well regarded Spanish bag brand that do interesting bags.

I like the East West Curve bag here as it reminds me of the Loewe puzzle bag

I came across Stow London through Tanner Leatherstein (the guy who takes apart and rates leather bags) - he named them brand of 2024.

I haven't seen them in real life. I can't find any stockists in the UK. They seem to be online only.

just to update! Tanner Leatherstein recently reviewed the Lauburu bag I originally wanted (which is also made in Ubrique like the Stow London ones) and his review was so good I bit the bullet and got it. I’m really thrilled with it and glad I took the chance! According to Tanner it’s priced pretty cheaply for what it is.
