I've just started minoxidil from Hair & Me. If you've been taking it for a while how have you found it? How traumatic was the initial shedding? 🙈

Still shedding and I think my nails have stopped growing. But I'm only 2 months in so I'm hopeful things will change soon. Can I DM you a code?

Yes that would be great. Thank you.

@HierarchyOfMugs how are you getting on?
I’m on week 5 now, no excess shedding but my hair does feel & look finer & my chin hairs are growing back super quick 😂

HierarchyOfMugs · 04/02/2026 20:59

I'm week 6 or 7 now. The shedding is slowing down, which is good. I've been getting through a lot of drain unblocking gel!
I've attached a photo of the worst fur-ball, from about week 3.

I'm still taking the daily Hair & Me as I had a spare tube from before cancelling the subscription. DH actually told me I was nuts for cancelling it last week as he could see there was somebody hair growth in the "widows peak" bits. And even though it's still wispy baby hair, it's hair and it might grow if I continue vs falling out if I stop. So now I'm thinking of restarting (and they have been emailing me with offers).
I was on 1.25mg. Is that low? What doses have people had success with? Is it worth me asking them to add some spiro? I was on Dianette pill for donkeys years and think that may be ringing a bell for something?

I take 2.5mg

Goldylion · 05/02/2026 07:41

Is the 2.5mg from hair & me? I’m wondering if 0.5 won’t be enough.

HierarchyOfMugs · 05/02/2026 07:46

I queried the dosage with them - they said they review it at 6 months. You could probably ask them to review it earlier if you think it's not working. I think the lower dose is supposed to minimise shedding.

Thanks, I’ll just be patient until 6 months.
