Outfit help- black velvet dress for wedding

I’m going to a wedding next week, I can’t figure out what to do shoes wise. I’m absolutely terrible at heels so I usually wear an ankle boot with heel for smarter things. Tried the dress with gold round toe ankle boots and it looks ridiculous. Help! I need some kind of shoe based solution that looks good but won’t make me fall over!

I’m a 5.5/6 in shoes. Narrow feet so need something that holds on with some kind of strap if isn’t boot

I think so, tbh I’ve never even tried before. Heel wise have only worn ankle boots, some platformy ones as well
