Older now and wanting to make the most of myself while I still have the energy!

Any advice on what kit to get? Or other tips? Aftercare?

I'll mostly be doing 'down below', I'm sure the hair there is getting ever more unruly! A few greys sneaking in too, rather get rid than just trim them.

I started doing this during lockdown and never went back to a salon! I got the Mylee kit off Amazon. It’s got the heater thing, the wax, and the wooden spatula things as well as various lotions and potions. It can be quite messy, I tend to lie on the floor on an old towel and have a mirror down there so I can see what I have missed 😁

Thank you @Nobumsonthetable !
That's so useful.

Your name feels kind of appropriate to this! Definitely on the floor 🤭

Second the mylee kit! It’s great, I wax everything myself now. It’s a great saving, I’ve found a layer of talc on the area first really helps with pain levels too as the wax doesn’t stick to the skin

Thank you @bigmix that's exactly the sort of tip I'm looking for!

Anyone got any advice for after care? I admit to being slightly (ok majorly) concerned about ingrown hairs 😩

Hello!

I've been doing this for over a decade now.
If you are still getting period, I'd recommend doing the wax mid cycle. It truly makes a difference. Don't ever do it before your period is due!

Also, once you're more experienced, I'd highly recommend trying the sugar wax. It is much gentler to the skin and washes off easily incase you get 'stuck' somewhere 🫣

Ingrown shouldn't be a problem if you take a nice bath/shower first and exfoliate. Softening the hair also makes this ordeal much less painful!

Happy waxing!

Amazing thank you @Mysleepingangel should I exfoliate before or after (or both)?

Before.
I dont normally shower for at least 12 hours and just keep the area clean.

Thanks again my lovely! 🙏

Got my Mylee kit and I'm about to get started with this guys, and have thought of more questions...

If it takes 30 minutes to heat a full pot of wax, is it about half the time with half the wax? As I'm only doing bikini line I won't need much will I?

And do you leave excess wax in the bottom of the pot for next time if you don't use it all? Or does it all need to be removed before packing away.

Thank you!
