I have loads of Hobbs buttons. Can you add a picture? Size?

soupyspoon · 17/12/2025 18:31

Oh do you, I would pay for them, not sure if Im allowed to say that

I will measure, the front trench ones, only 2 I need, I notice they're different on the inside, on the epaulettes and on the cuffs, they're all different sizes so I cant even swap from a less conspicuous place

I’d just replace all of them. Would be easier?

UpMyself · 18/12/2025 22:25

Have you tried asking Hobbs?

Another thought is might there be a tatty old Hobbs coat on ebay with the same size buttons?

Or ask on your local Freecycle.

Yes I thought of this but ideally would like the original buttons if I could

Ive emailed them, no reply yet

Well the coat is a tatty old coat on ebay!!! I didnt spot that there were 2 buttons missing. Now I know why it was a bargain!!

I meant in the 'needs repair' or 'buttons missing' listings.

Purplemoor · 18/12/2025 23:35

Definitely ask Hobbs.

I had an issue with a lost Toast button and they sent me a whole new set !!

soupyspoon · 24/12/2025 14:43

Well the very sad update of this is that they have now replied, today, and said they dont sell replacement buttons

Im so surprised. Even the dry cleaner told me they would do, he said they're a premium brand who would do this.

Just bumping this to see if someone can sell me some buttons (sounds like the start of a panto or something)

Could you go to a haberdashers and buy unbranded but otherwise matching buttons, and rearrange them so that the most visible buttons had Hobbs on them?

I did think of that but I need to replace all of them if Im going to do that. There are 10 buttons on the front, all very visible. So 2 which are different cant be hidden, its a real nuisance but I took a gamble and it didnt pay off so I'll swallow it

The buttons elsewhere like cuffs and epaulettes are different sizes to the ones on the front so I cant swap them

Ok then. Look for an identical coat on ebay/vinted/charity shop. Will probably be cheaper than several sets of buttons.

Some buttons are likely to be less visible than others. For example, if the coat is long, the ones nearer the hem, or ones that might be obscured by scarf or hair.
