2026 is the year I will find my style

I loathe clothes shopping so much that it verges on a phobia but 2026 is the year and that changes!

I think I need to start with the foundations. Where do I go for a good bra fitting? I am not large of nork as they used to say on MN and I've gone to M&S in the past but the bras don't fit properly.

And where do I find knickers that don't give a VPN - no thongs please.

And recommendation for trousers/jeans that fit nicely on the bum, please.

Uniqlo

For bras I am loyal to Molke but I know there's a love-hate relationship with them on MN so it's a very personal thing.

For knickers I buy Sainsbury's basic cotton underwear but size up preferably two sizes. I'm a size 12 normally but wear a size 16. They don't fall down and it stops any VPL.

I agree with Uniqlo for basics.

I would avoid M&S for bras. They have fitted me wrong and their own line bras seem to come up small. There’s nothing like an ill fitting bra to make you feel unattractive and it’s transformational when you find the right one(s). I just discovered the Fantasie Fusion bra (I’m 30FF) but there’s something out there for everyone. How about trying John Lewis? Maybe as part of their personal shopping service?

Huge Fantasy fan here. John Lewis stock them near me. Find a couple or three styles that are right for you, then you are sorted!

pants- my DD likes the longer line ones for a smooth look. Me - I prefer looser trousers! Tight thin stretch ones are always going to be problematic. You can get pants with no leg seams - M&S do them.

Thank you!

Dont have a Uniqlo nearby but I've just been browsing their website and like the look of lots of their stuff.

And I will visit JL in January for bras. Can't face it over the next few weeks!

Bravissimo, much better at measuring and fitting than anywhere else imo

I'm not a D cup or larger so Bravissimo is out for me.
