Dressy Flats that don't flap up and down?

I have given up on heels, but am struggling to find nice/dressy flats for an evening outfit. Ideally I would get pointy flat ballerinas, but they always seem to 'flap' up and down on my heels. I have bought multiple pairs, and worn only once due to discomfort. I have bought elastic things to hold them on my feet, but these are not very comfortable either! Nor do they look stylish. Not a big fan of Mary Jane style. Does anyone have suggestions comfortable, nice dressy flats that will stay on my feet?

It’s probably your feet not the shoe.

I'm exactly the same, can’t wear shoes that don’t have some kind of fastening. My feet are a bit flat and quite narrow.

The only ballet style shoes I’ve found that work are ones with elastic in the back. Though they don’t always look as nice.

Thank you @TulipTuesday I think you are right about my feet! I have the same problem with slingbacks - they just will not 'grip'. Off to check out some strap/Mary Jane styles instead...

I don't suit Mary-Jane's but the slant of these straps somehow look more stylish. The website isn't great at showing some of the materials have a subtle sparkle to make them more dressy. Hugely comfy and eco-friendly too!

Thanks everyone! Sorry for late reply - Christmas panic took over. Slingback style (even with elastic) doesn't seem to work for me at all. I have never heard of Air & Grace, and they do look lovely. Thanks again all, I have ordered some online now - fingers crossed!.
