MAC lipsticks- tell me where to start

My aim for the new year is to find THE lipstick. Currently using a Clinique, Bobbi Brown and Nars in 'nude pink' shades that are all okay but slightly too deep and pink. I need something with a bit more peach (but not peach!)

So- MAC.
I always give up at their counter because there are just so many different formulations.

Tell me where to start please.

I want something semi-matte, probably satin, am fine with something a bit shiny.
Not full matte.

Where do I start?

Velvet Teddy is too dark and pink, yes.

I got a free sample of it years ago.

Looking online there was a Mac that was called Kittie something, or something Kittie which looked about the shade I need- peach/beige / pink.

I'm focusing to start with on the formula so at least when I go to the counter I know which ones to look at!

If you google Mac lipstick shades it will come up on images with loads of swatches with the name of the lipsticks. I love Mac lip liners and lipsticks. Another alternative is to actually go into Mac and describe what you’re looking for and they will show you all the options

Enjoy the search op (I mean that, I love looking at make up!) - I know you’ve said mac but there’s a thread in the past few days about someone finally finding a lipstick they love and there’s great suggestions on it from other people just in case it helps!

i use a combo of 2 but it’s a perfect pinky nude - NARS raquel with mac honeylove on top

Yeah I've done that often. But online colours aren't the same as in RL.

I will come u p with a short list for the counter, but I think MAC possibly have the widest range of all compared to other brands.

I'm not asking for colour options, but texture. There are loads of different ones and it's not clear what they all are.

Clinique Pink Honey comes out peachy pink on me , I'm very cool toned.

The Mac lustreglass lipsticks are not too heavy, not too matt and slightly (but not noticeably) shiny.

I have 3 lustre ones - Mac See Sheer, Mac Sellout, Mac Syrup. My colouring is fair with dark hair.

These colours might suit you. Mac Sellout has a pinky tone, See Sheer is more red and Syrup is more brown toned. Excuse my poor description!

I love Mac lipsticks and have far too many.
Unfortunately, they’ve stopped making my favourite AW shade (Faux) but I still love Angel, Syrup (will be wearing this to DH’s work do tonight) and Sellout.

I use twig and love the colour.
It's quite natural but does have a lovely colour to it. Its a satin lipstick.

Is Creme Cup too light? I absolutely love it! Its pinky peach without being overly one way or the other

Spirit as a shade is my favourite nude. Very little pink in it (but enough that I don't look dead). It's a matte formula though, perhaps ask what their closest satin finish is to it and try that?

Where is the cheapest place to buy genuine MAC lipsticks ?
