What to wear with these boots?

Help me stylish people! I've got these boots, which I love, but I can't make them work with anything except tucked in skinny jeans. They were expensive so I'd like to get more wear out of them - maybe wear them with combat trousers, barrel jeans, the odd skirt. But everything in my existing wardrobe looks weird with them! All my trousers bunch up at the top of the boot, and skirts all seem to be the wrong length (or maybe my tree trunk lower legs are the issue...).

Are these boots unstyle-able or am I just trying them with the wrong things. My normal look is under-stated/scruffy/thesilverkat vibes, 5'4, size 12, short body, longish legs. I don't think I suit long flowy trousers that would cover the shaft of the boot. Any advice much appreciated.

They are a bit of an awkward shape and length. I mean, high ankle height is fashionable but easier to wear if they’re flat and chunky looking.

Yours need a skirt/dress that either hits the top of the boots or covers them.

Or long wide trousers that flow right over the shaft of the boot and go almost to the floor.

Cropped trousers with that shape boot will be very Puss in Boots.

Skinny jeans tucked in would be an abomination.

I think a long skirt would work with them.

A midi length skirt should work.

Not loving the boots, sorry, but I can see them working fine with a midi skirt, either flowy or straight. Pencil skirts are allegedly coming back, although I haven’t seen much evidence. Leather A line midi maybe?

I'd wear them with skinny jeans if you still have some.

I like them, and I think they are more for midi or maxi skirts than trousers, but a straightish, rolled cuff trouser might work. Neither skinnies nor wide will work as the proportions will be weird (and yes, puss in boots danger)

I’d happily wear them with a barrel leg trouser or a slightly cropped wide leg trouser. I actually really like them!

I think a pencil skirt that ends at the knee or mini skirt - above the knee would work , black tights underneath.

Thanks everyone - glad to see a couple of positive posts! 😂 I really like them and they super comfy so I’m keen to make them work. I’ve been googling like mad for any images of them in the wild. Here are approximations with with skinnies and straight jeans - maybe I just need to embrace the bumfley bit of fabric at the neck… I do think they might work with a pencil skirt - that’s a great idea. Also a shorter skirt if I can brave it - might be time to try back the ra-ra skirt!!

Off to try them with some barrel legs. Will report back!!!
