Help me find a similar lipstick for my very old lipstick.

I am on the last dregs of my favourite ever lipstick, it is probably 15 years old (God knows how unhygienic that must be 😂)

It’s by Avon and is a pinky nude colour called Cherub. Not sure of the finish, it’s definitely not matte but not a full satin either.

Please can someone help me find a dupe as I’m sure this was probably discontinued years ago!

Does it match any of these avon shades?
You could always get in touch with them and see if they could shade match it to their newer range?

Oh sorry image under review!

Perfidia · 29/11/2025 11:03

But won’t your appearance have changed over 15 years? Skin tone, facial structure, hair colour and cut, eyebrows. Surely the rest of your make up is different to what you wore then? What about your jewellery and clothes?

Wouldn’t it ultimately be more satisfying to look for a lipstick that’s exactly right for how you look now?

Thebeehiveflys · 29/11/2025 11:12

It looks extremely like a lipstick I have by Clinique called “sugarcoated” - check out the John Lewis webpage as it’s on offer there now. The photos make it look quite dark, but in real life it looks more like your photo, and has a nice creamy texture, with slightly golden undertone.
Hope you find your match soon.

Thebeehiveflys · 29/11/2025 11:14

Check out EBay too, they sometimes have left over discontinued stock.

SwedishEdith · 29/11/2025 11:21

I'd take it to a make up counter and let them help you. I've done that.

bubbletubble · 29/11/2025 12:42

@Unhappyitisoh looks quite like the Twindle Pink! Might give that a go. Thanks!

It looks similar to Mac Crème Cup to me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/11/2025 14:10

Take it to either Mac or Chanel and see what they've got that's similar.

BreadInCaptivity · 29/11/2025 14:22

On the photo it looks very similar to Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk.

Rimmel Asia would be worth a try at the cheaper end of things

On the photo it looks very similar to Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk.

It’s also on offer now: £29.00 reduced to £21.75 if you fancy trying a more premium brand.

StripyHorse · 29/11/2025 17:00

I use Bobby Brown Italian Rose which looks similar.
Or L'oreal Les Nu range (can't remember the shade I got).

As a proper budget lipstick with a similar shade, Boots Natural Collection Old Rose. It's about £4 so I keep it in my work bag.

bubbletubble · 29/11/2025 19:05

ah so many options! I’m going to take a look this evening at them all. Thanks all! X

You can buy Avon lipstick testers

I think its more like Carnation than Twinkle pink which is extremely pale, paler than it looks

NCNC4 · 29/11/2025 22:09

Not sure if this will be pink enough, but… MAC Velvet Teddy?

Or MAC Mehr is a bit pinker (I’m not a rep for MAC, I swear, I’m just a fan!)

Was also going to suggest Pillowtalk by Charlotte Tilbury - as soon as I saw your photo OP! I wear the medium one and love it. They also do lipliners of it etc as well as the different shades so I’m sure they’d have something you’d like that’s suited to your skin tone etc.

bubbletubble · 30/11/2025 07:24

@NCNC4those Mac one might be a good shout.

@Hel9200I can’t believe I’ve got my to my age and not actually realised there’s different shades of Pillow Talk - I already have a Pillow Talk lipstick that someone bought me as a gift and just assumed that was the name of the colour!

@FinallyHereThis looks amazing!

If you go to London you could take your Avon lipstick and have a custom one made. I did this in the summer, wanted my lip colour but better and have been complimented on the colour I have.
It is pricey but as I saw it, factor in a couple of high value lipsticks that are not right and the cost is covered!

I’d suggest Mac Syrup (a bit less deep than the shades suggested earlier in the thread)

Or Bobbi Brown Lilac

More generally, Google “Mac lipsticks for cool tone, fair skin” and you’ll get a lot of recommendations that come up as more or less lighter or deeper versions of the Avon shade you posted
