Should I wax my legs instead of shaving?

Shaving has to be done so often and I'm now shaving my fake tan off ...

But how long do you have to let the hairs get before you can have a wax? This is why I've always shaved - what if you want to go bare-legged and are getting a bit hairy but not hairy enough for a wax?

i could bare to even have a mm of growth

i hate my legs fuzzy and i just shave them in the shower every day. it is annoying when you ahve a tan but hey ho

(!)

I hate waxing. The inbetweeny period is awful.

Twinkie1 · 09/06/2008 11:17

Oooohhhh use the venus razors with the built in soap - they are fab, quick and easy and don't remove your tan if you make sure you have moisturised properly each night - I do have a quick spray with the St Tropez airbrush on my legs each morning after shaving though so they always have a bit of colour!

Waxing - bleugh - I hate having my bikini line done - couldn;t cope with legs as well!

TeriHatchetJob · 09/06/2008 11:17

They say a few days to a weeks growth, so if you are going to try it, wait for the weather to change a bit so you can hide your legs!!!

Most bloody painful thing I've done though and have gone back to a daily shave as life is too short to put myself through that pain again!!!

fishie · 09/06/2008 11:20

epilator will solve this. cheap too. i hate shaving, would rather have a fully haired leg than stubble.

NomDePlume · 09/06/2008 11:21

It's not nec the LOOK of regrowth that annoys me, it's the feel of it and fact that I get horrible spots when the stubble comes through.

BettySpaghetti · 09/06/2008 11:26

I couldn't stand the regrowth in between each waxing -I have very dark hair so it would be horrendous.

The one time I had my legs waxed it was agony and I found that the hair-free time was for nowhere near as long as I hoped for.

You know what? I think I'll stick with what I'm doing

I'm currently using the Dove fake tan moisturiser. St Tropez airbrush worth a go then Twinkie?

I loved it when I had my legs waxed....for about 2 weeks. But then there was such a long time when I had to wander about with stubbly legs. And the hair didn't come through soft and downy at all - it was still like a yard broom. So expensive, painful and pointless.

BettySpaghetti · 09/06/2008 11:37

lol @ yard broom !

I can relate to that

ruddynorah · 09/06/2008 11:48

i've tried waxing and on my very very dark hair it really didn't last long at all. you could still see dark roots after a day, like dark stubble but legs were smooth. not worth it at all.

Blondilocks · 13/06/2008 20:46

Bikini line is fine, but not brave enough to do legs. Also my salon said to leave it a month after shaving.. now It's been a week & I am already hating the stubble so don't think I'll ever get my legs waxed.

Am considering an epilator though.
