Dyson Airwrap hair breakage

I’ve had the Dyson air wrap for a few years now and I’ve never thought too much of it till recently ..

is it causing damage to my hair??

i only use the hair dryer and brush attachment, not the barrels for curls.

what’s your experiences?

It won't cause as much hair damage as a traditional hairdryer might, but it will certainly damage your hair. How quickly it'll damage your hair depends on a number of factors including how often you use it and how you already take care of your hair (do you use heat protectant?)

Personally I've also had my Dyson Airwrap for a few years. I have naturally thick, curly hair and tend to wash my hair every 2 days. I try to let it air dry as much as I can before using my Dyson Airwrap to brush it as straight as I can. My hair doesn't stay straight like this for very long and tends to look quite bushy, so if I'm wanting a natural look, I leave it at this point. If I'm hoping to look slightly more presentable, I follow up with my Dyson straightener.

My hairdresser has told me that she's starting to see signs of hair damage on my hair, so I'll have to change my routine.

I find my hair is much healthier since getting one. I can get my frizzy hair tamed with just the dryer and brush and it’s a lot better than using straighteners like I used to. Obviously too much heat is never good but you can get good results with a lot less heat in my opinion.
(still haven’t quite mastered the curls though Blush)

Had mine since 2017. I occasionally use straighteners however there is no damage at all to my hair.

I've wondered this recently as well

I use the round bristle brush to dry my hair 2/3 times a week and I'm not sure it's doing my hair any good I can see a lot of breakage

Yeah that’s what I thought too, but I’m finding recently lots of short hairs at the root and very dry ends.

but I’ve had it for about 4 years now and I’ve never noticed it really before.

it’s not new growth either

yeah I’m the same, but only usually with the hard bristle brush and the regular hair dryer attachment.

im noticing so many short hairs at the root which I don’t believe is new growth and my ends have gone really dry.
