Was thinking something like this to wear with vests and summer skirts:
www.warehouse.co.uk/fcp/product/-//WESTERN-JACKET/6780
but will i look like i'm trying to be 18 again (am currently 35).
And am new here and love it - have in the past week bought the chanel foundation recommended which i love and had a brazilian wax!

I think the cut has to be more modern than your typical boxy demin jacket. A dart or 2 at the waist would bring it more up to date.

Though the more I look at the Topshop jacket, the more I like it.

What about leather? Do you have to be under 22 for leather jackets or coats?

maidamess · 08/06/2008 22:16

I bought a cracking jacket in Esprit. They have nice blazers in there. Do you not rate the quality of top Shop?

DirtySexyMummy · 08/06/2008 22:17

The Topshop one is lovely.
Topshop used to be quite shit quality, its better now. Its still not amazing, but the stuff is definitely a lot better made.

DirtySexyMummy · 08/06/2008 22:18

nfk - no. Leather is acceptable. However, it has to be very fitted, a nice cut and proper leather. Imitation is horrific for over 22's. Young ones can get away with fake leather.

nkf · 08/06/2008 22:18

Phew!

Like the topshop one

Ooh I like that Topshop blazer jacket; not keen on Topshop generally though (especially now dd1 shops there!). My blazer is from St Martins and I love it but I also have a fitted, short-cut (so not so boxy) denim jacket from Principles and I wear it a lot in Spring and Autumn, especially with cute little coloured skirts.

Yes, Denim jacket is classic.

Rubbish to 22 age limit. Paff.

maidamess · 09/06/2008 20:04

Say no more.

I know it's tres fashionable at the moment but faded/bleached denim is horrible unless you work on the waltzers at the fair or you are one of Bros and you have a time machine and you can use it to go back to 1989 and then wear it.

It's just not flattering. Dark denim jackets look much better, even if it;s not cutting edge.

Cutting schmedge Go with what flatters.
