Winter trainers/walking boots

I spend a lot of time outside and live in trainers. I need some that are suitable for cold/wet weather or even better some boots. Hiking boots might do but they are all a bit garish. Do any cool looking trainer style outdoor boots shoes exist? With good grip on sole.

i know everyone wore those Grenson boots a while
back but not so keen on them and don’t really like DMs.

Agree with applegingermint but mine are plain black. They are great and I wear them all the time and I walk a lot. They do half sizes.

I have scarpa walking boots - not the most attractive, (wouldn’t have been seen dead in them 20 years ago 🤣), but I love them. They’ve been comfortable from day 1, are waterproof and just a great boot.

Ive some Mammut boots. Cost around £200 but they are so lightweight and truly waterproof.

Did you forget to add the link?

Ah, no, I can see why it looked like that though. I just meant that friend have hightops, but I didn't link to them.

Have you tried Allbirds?

I shall Google these, thanks!

I absolutely love my waterproof goretex Vans MTE boots. Best winter boots I've ever had.

TerrysCIockworkOrange · 22/11/2025 22:24

I like Tretorn. They have weatherproof (and cold weather proof) trainers that don’t look like you’re setting off on your Bronze DofE

How about the On Cloudrock OP? They are pretty great for self cleaning as they have a midsole channel which stops you carrying the mud around. Cloudrock 2 Waterproof | Purple | On Switzerland share.google/fE7A7e0QF45VvGRL8 On Cloudrock

@Daisy03I also love Sorrel!

Gentlesquids · 23/11/2025 14:11

Came here to say Sorel

Light, warm, waterproof and look nice.
Be warned, size up as small fitting

Treeforme · 24/11/2025 01:53
