What shoes with this dress?

I have bought a lovely dress from Hobbs, Peony dress (I hope link works)
and I don't know what shoes to wear with it. I'm size 16, 5ft 7in.

I'd like boots, so I won't be cold, and I can't wear heels. But I don't know if they should be black, or brown? suede or not?
I like these gabor black suede or these other Gabor black boots.

I'd get the first gabor boots but in brown. I think brown goes more nicely than black, which I think is a bit harsh looking. Just my thrupence. Stunning dress.

I would not put boots with that dress, it's too elegant. How about a tiny heel (0.5inch) Mary Jane style - Dune and Carvela have some lovely ones.

Thank you - good point. I have been guilty of wearing boots where boots don't really go in the past just out of habit/comfort. Will have a look at Dune.
