Show me what you wear with leggings

I live mostly in jeans but have just seen some lovely Christmassy leggings, but I honestly don't know what I'd wear with them and whether I'd just look silly.

I'm late forties, short, apple shaped, and would definitely need to cover my tummy and bum.

If you are a regular leggings wearer, could you tell me what you wear with them? Even better could you show me?

And if you think they'd look awful let me know!

The Christmas leggings are slightly scarey.

I love Llama Leisure but I wear their leggings as sportswear and their joggers as pyjamas! Not really as everyday wear for out of the house.

DH is like Scrooge with the heating so at home or lunch out it's oversized long jumper's from Roman Clothing, or Sea salt tunics.

Lol, I like them OP, but I think you'd need to pair them with a plain black jumper.

I also have skinny legs with a more chunky upper body, so I try and pair leggings with chunky wide boots to balance me out

Black ones that are the kind once known as 'footless tights' with shortish denim skirt and loafers/backless loafers in autumn.

Black/navy with oversized cowl neck sweaters and boots - calf length, cowboy or knee length.

Patterned -as in meant to be running and with that kinda watermark pattern - I wear big hoodie/sweatshirt and Birkenstock type clogs with fur linings for in the house days when the cottage is cold

I wear tunic tops with mine and a pair of FLY boots, love the look and so comfortable. I also wear a long khaki gilet, I’ve had some compliments which is sweet.

Sweater dresses

Long jumper or a short skater style dress - I treat leggings as thick tights and wear tops accordingly!!

I wear leggings as a substitute for thick tights as well, so usually a below the knee dress, and at this time of year knee high boots. So I wouldn't get much benefit from Christmas leggings. My aim with leggings is to have warm legs, a comfy midriff and ideally for no one to notice I'm wearing them.

At the moment I am wearing mine with mashed potato on the leg, but yesterday it was mac and cheese on the bum (no idea how).

Oh come on people, they're no worse than a cheesy Christmas jumper! I'd wear a long black jumper and knee high boots

I wear leggings with an oversized shirt or t-shirt

And a cardigan

And yes exactly @ZaZathecat I immediately thought they were just like a Christmas jumper too! I wasn't planning to wear them for work or anything 😂. I need to get some longer jumpers I think.

I wear my Christmassy leggings (black and white scandi snowflakes) with chunky boots, big fluffy socks in matching colours and an oversized bright red wool jumper.

Generally, I think leggings look good with an oversized top, whether t shirt or thick jumper/hoody. I'd definitely wear all the Christmas ones you showed with a heavy wool, colourful jumper OP.

I gottta ask, what’s the difference between a scandi snowflake and any other snowflake?

You'll be wearing thrush with them; they're polyester.

@Wickedlittledancer Just the shape and patterning was what I meant really. It's not like the snowflakes on a Christmas card (or my Christmas jumpers). It's a sort of boxy, blocky snowflake in a pattern more reminiscent of a Nordic jumper or a festive Ikea tea towel...
