I've found a few but I'd love to know if anyone has any tips on some good ones.

Yes, I get most of DS shoes from Office online.

SlightlyMadSweet · 08/06/2008 19:00

TBH I wouldn't buy childresn shoes online as IMO they need to be professionally fitted.

Sorry that probably doesn't help.

DirtySexyMummy · 08/06/2008 20:05

I get DS feet measured, and then I know what size he is, and can buy online.

Then, when they arrive I try them on him, check they fit, and if not send them back. Its no different than buying shoes in a shop!

Buying shoes online does not mean your child is wearing badly fitting shoes.

SMS I also get dd's feet measured and she usually has Startrite for school etc. I was just after something different for home. Some trainers / canvas shoes.

And I have to say that I've wasted so much money on Startrites that were meant to be 'properly fitted' at bloody John Lewis which turned out to rub, slip off or be generally uncomfortable, I'm somewhat dubious about that notion these days.

I used to work in a well known, and very expensive shop as a 'qualified' childrens shoe fitter, when I was 16. I was given about 20 minutes training, and then a certificate to say I was fully qualified.

I was fitting peoples childrens shoes, and didn't really know what I was doing.

Fine, go and get them measured, but as for the fit of the shoes, you are as well doing it yourself.

Vertbaudet have nice shoes. And pretty much any French or Spanish hypermarket, should you happen to be abroad this summer.

bettybeetroot · 08/06/2008 21:24

camper.com do kids shoes now. my dd has had a couple of pairs - they are good quality - some really lovely styles!

bettybeetroot · 08/06/2008 21:28

also i agree you are just as well fitting them yourself - i know my dd's feet better than anyone! her feet are wide and she has always been difficult to buy for but i am getting use to what brands she can fit and what styles. it's amazing how many shops have not 'fitted' her properly

imaginaryfriend · 08/06/2008 22:50

I so agree re. the fitting! My dd has very narrow feet, often an E width fitting is slightly wide, and I find that so-called width-fitted shoes vary as much as shoes you can buy anywhere else. I can also tell what kind of shoe will fit my dd.

If you know the size you want there are some fantastic bargains on
here

I have bought from them and got StartRite shoes for dd at a fraction of the shop price.

Thought I would let you know about a new site I just found. They sell loads of kids shoes and baby shoes and are cheap. You might want to check them out. I did and my wife has bought loads from them (Clarks, Start-rite) and they also do some cool shoes called Tsubo and smaller Beppi baby shoes.

The sites called www shoesforkids co uk - and have another site www designershoesforkids co uk

Hope this helps
