Cap highlights for longer hair?

Hi,
Im looking for advice pleasefrom anyone whos had cap highlights or from any hairdressers.
I had cap highlights done years ago, but ive since heard they are usually better for shorter hair lengths. My hair is below my shoulders & im wondering if cap highlights can be done on longer hair? The last time I got highlights done this way the colour outcome was so nice. I usually get foils.

Thank you

Yes should be done on shorter hair, mainly as the hair can get tangly pulling through longer hair and can be more painful when pulling off the cap, but it can be done (and has been!!) I think it depends on your scalp sensitivity, how thick/tangly your hair gets and how long is long?!

the main the is obviously only 1 colour (and then a toner) can be done and you can’t guarantee the placement as you have to pull through where the holes are so may not coincide with your parting/hairline so depends if this would bother you? I’d say if you want for finer highlights/sun kissed look and flexible about where your parting is, it would prob be ok.
