Making coarse, thick hair shiny without looking greasy

My daughter is wanting shiny, smooth hair. Other than oil and straightening, is there anything I can get her. She has quite dry, coarse hair but if I put anything on the roots, it looks greasy. I don’t want to keep straightening it. Would mousse work?

Sounds like she has curly hair? Have you tried a curly hair method like silicone free shampoo and conditioner followed by mousse and then an oil on the ends?

Yes I think you are right. I could try that

The hair needs to be hydrated and smooth before you use oil.
You need regular treatments and a good conditioner.
Have you tried any of the shampoo and conditioners to help with shine?
Oil is the last step.

Also when you dry the hair, point the hairdryer down and use a big round brush, have a look on YouTube on how to get smooth shiny hair.

My daughter has extremely thick hair with a bit of wave. It has taken us about two years of trying everything under the sun (and I have curly hair so we tried all the methods I know for mine too) and the only thing that has got it looking smooth and shiny like she wants it is the Lush spray, Super Milk I think it is.
