Wrap / shawl / cover up for winter wedding

I have a gorgeous long navy dress to wear to my friend's wedding in December, but it has spaghetti straps and I need something to wear over it, at least for the ceremony. We'll be indoors all day (and I'll have a coat anyway) but I want something light to wear over my shoulders for part of the evening. I've been looking at shrugs, wraps, cover ups etc, but I'm not very good at this sort of thing so could do with some pointers. Will be wearing a navy dress with gold jewellery if that helps. Thanks so much!

I ended up with a cropped cashmere cardigan from Boden a couple of years ago, felt it could (and has) been used again, plus a bit more substantial than a scarf!

A faux fur bolero or a sequinned jacket/shrug?

Thanks- I'm not sure if can pull off sequins to be honest. My style is quite conservative really - I'm not very good at fashion. I can select clothes to flatter me (and have a great figure) but rubbish at styling outfits together, and am a 'play it safe' sort of person...

Okay what else... what colour heels and bag should I wear? And is gold best or is silver more modern? I don't want to look frumpy. Sorry for all the questions... I have no sense of style! Dress looks a bit like this:
