I need to get something to curl the ends of my hair, probably from CeX second hand, as I was going to trade-in my GHD duet blowdryer, as I've replaced with a Dyson airstrait (also from Cex). It's great, dries my hair quickly and straight and shiny, but really blunt ends, no movement etc. So I need to curl them now. (it's naturally really curly/frizzy, very thick , but dries very straight with this and looks a bit bad at the ends as a result of so much hair, just a big curtain).
I do have separate straighteners that I use occasionally and can curl a bit with them, but don't want to do that after i've already straightened it with the drier, and it's hard to do the back. I also have a Curl Secret, but I'm worried about it tangling, and the curls don't hold that well.
So, do I want a wand or a tong? I've only ever used tongs before, as a teenager. Don't really know how to use a wand. What is easiest to curl the back of my head?
And are the expensive brands worth it? CeX has brands like cloud 9, or GHD, so any of their usual offerings for curling irons is likely to be available. Does it actually make a difference to get an expensive one, in terms of how long the curls last, how nice they are etc, or is it all in the product and I should just get a cheap £10 from Argos? I'd like quite a wide barrell I think. And it's the very ends that need to curl.
So what are your best recommendations for irons/wands, for speed, ease of curling the back, nice long-lasting loose curls for thick hair that's been straightened as it dries.? thanks
