Taking daughter to a concert - what to wear?

I'm going with my teenage daughter this week to Benson Boone. As an overweight 50 year old, what do I wear? I have no idea. I'm a jeans a t-shirt/jumper with trainers person. I don't want to look like an old lady! I'm a size 14, with my weight in my belly and boobs!

I’m going after a day at the office so I’ll be there in my work stuff- wide leg trousers and a fine knit jumper!

Honestly, wear what you want, it’s dark, no one can see! At Busted Vs McFly last week the uniform seemed to be wide leg jeans and a band T! Definitely trainers, you’ll be stood up a lot!

Layers is my usual uniform. Cold outside but gets hot in, so a hoodie that can go round your waist is useful. Definitely comfy shoes and ones you don’t mind getting wet from spilt drinks or stood on, especially if you’re in the standing area.

Jeans, t-shirt, hoodie, trainers.
I ho to a lot of gigs and always wear that in winter, swapping to vest top in summer and shorts if ifs outside.

Check if it's happening first...

Shoes that are comfortable for sure! Layers are a good call. I would definitely go for comfort.

Why? Have you seen something about it?

He cancelled the Birmingham show last night at the very last minute, after the doors had opened and the arena was almost full. Some friends were there. He's lost his voice and they haven't confirmed if the London dates are happening.

Oh no. I wasn't aware of that. Doesn't look good

I like Benson Boone but it’s bad form to cancel a show at the last minute. He’d posted on instagram the night before that he’d lost his voice and was feeling unwell.

I hope he’s recovered and you get to enjoy the show, he’s an amazing performer, and wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

Eek. Thanks for the head up. I’ll be there in my jeans, trainers, nice top and coat that goes round waist. Take a small big (see allowed sizes) if you need to take one.

I must ask…. Did you care what you were wearing when Brian May appeared?! 😁😁😁😁

labradorservant · 05/11/2025 08:13

I went on Monday and missed Brian last night. Still a shading concert. Lots of sparkle, red white and blue.
