Low-rise or mid-rise jeans

But low-rise or at the most, mid-rise. I am only 5.2" so high-rise doesn't suit me, or really wide/baggy jeans. The lenghth of the leg I can deal with but I don't want anything slim or skinny either. Budget up to £100.

I'd love recommendations for specific brands/styles (online). I am already very familiar with Hollister and Abercrombie. Not as keen on M&S as a lot of people seem to be, mostly because of the high rises if I'm honest. Thanks!

Levi Superlow. They're not actually low, more of a mid rise but very comfortable and 100% cotton, which I prefer. I havec2 pairs and in one i sized up by 1 inch so they sit lower than my usual size but they are baggier on the hips I think my usual size is better. I also have some low rise from Hollister which are lower than the Levis but not as good quality, the denim is thinner. I also like the look of these from Motel Rocks but I haven't bought them

Topshop Ember jeans. Come in shorter length and different colours.

I agree about M&S. All so high waisted. I did see a very flared pair with a mid rise in there recently which was a surprise.

I find low rise is now mid rise and things labelled mid rise are high rise.

River Island tend to do true mid rise.

Thanks for this, I've been looking for low rise jeans and those Levi's look perfect. I'm 5'7 so have to watch when buying jeans but thankfully those ones do a good leg length

Whathappend · 29/10/2025 09:03

Watching with interest.

High rise seem to be everywhere these days. I want a low/mid rise straight or bootcut. Not baggy.

Levi couldn't offer me anything in store that met my brief a couple of days ago @Diggetydawg 😞

I'm 5'7 too and I got the 32 leg, they're a great length

I got them online but I did see them in the Levis shop when I went in.

Well that's perfect that you are the same height. Glad to know that the 32 is a good length. It's such a pain when you find jeans that you love but the length is crap. Definitely going to try a pair of these. Thank you for the recommendation 😊

Placemarking on this thread. I have been living in Hollister low-rise bootcut for the past few years, but they have unreasonably now taken the stretch out so the last 2 pairs I bought were massively less comfortable.

Richardscaryisscary · 29/10/2025 09:43

God, I hate high rise jeans. I'm tall with a ridiculously long torso, but high rise come up inches over my belly button, so uncomfortable when sitting and they don't look great over my stomach.
I love flares, but they are all high rise. I'm pretty skint so anything over £30/40 is way too much.
I just want a mid rise flare (and a proper flare, not a bootleg)

OldieButBaddie · 29/10/2025 12:43

Hollister are great for these, my DD suggested when I was bemoaning the lack of genuine mid waisted jeans

They have a great offer on atm where loads of them are £25 - £27 if you sign up to their mailing list and become a "house member", the woman in the shop said they are trying to persuade people to buy the new styles (flare, bootleg) but they are clinging to the wide leg ones so this is an attempt to wean them off!

FiveCustardTarts · 29/10/2025 13:08

European brands such as Bershka tend to have more low rise. Not sure about length though.

lindyloo57 · 29/10/2025 14:19

If you can get hold of a pair of oasis scarlet jeans, mostly on ebay , I haven't looked on vinted, they are mid to low waist.
